Warner Bros is going with Zack Snyder to direct the upcoming Superman reboot. Some earlier rumors pointed to Darren Aronofsky possibly taking it on and there were several other prominent names presumed to be in the mix. The studio has a great relationship with Snyder having housed 300, Watchmen, Legend of the Guardians, and the upcoming Sucker Punch. Snyder is best recognized by his distinctive visual style and somewhat dark stories, which makes Superman an interesting project for him given...

Spartacus is the first breakout hit original series for home network Starz, so the news that the title actor Andy Whitfield would have to go back into treatment for Non-Hodgkin lymphoma hit hard on two fronts. Not only was it sad news as it had been believed he was in remission after initial treatment that delayed production on season two, but the network was put into a tough position on how to proceed with the show. They could either end it or recast it, and obviously neither of those options...

Two horror films hurt each other's potential while a likely awards season contender sailed to first place at the box office this weekend. The Social Network came out on top, while Case 39 and Let Me In finished in 7th and 8th place respectively. Riding high on great buzz and terrific reviews David Fincher's The Social Network pulled in $23 million and in doing so more than doubled any other film for the weekend. Marketing had been heavy for the film but its premise and some misconceptions (...

The Spider-Man reboot is beginning to take shape and with that comes the casting rumors. Officially the only part that has been solidified is Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) as Peter Parker. Now though potential actresses to take on the love interests in Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy are being discussed. Deadline is reporting that Emma Stone is the choice for Mary Jane Watson and they are offering her the role. It seems more likely than not she will accept given her close relationshi...

The second casualty of the fall TV season is the ABC drama My Generation. After only two episodes the network has removed it from the schedule but has not announced what will replace it at 8pm on Thursday nights. The show took on a documentary style in the following of a group of friends as they flashed back and forth between present day and 10 years prior when they were seniors in high school. Earlier this week Fox canceled their new series Lone Star after just two episodes as well. My Gen...

  • Hitch to Become TV Series

The 2005 hit film Hitch is being turned into a television series, with multiple networks in the bidding hoping to acquire it. The movie, which starred Will Smith, Eva Mendes, and Kevin James went on to make $180 million domestically and doubled that number when counting in foreign grosses. Its $50 million opening weekend still holds the record for a romantic comedy. I can see Hitch working as a series pretty well given the concept. The question is whether a lead can be cast in the 'Alex Hit...
