    James Cameron has signed on to write and direct Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 Variety reports. The plan is for him to begin working on the scripts early next year with Avatar 2 releasing in December 2014 and Avatar 3 December 2015.     Unstoppable is based on the true story of a runaway unmanned train carrying hazardous chemicals in Ohio in 2001.     3-D movies are all the craze these days. According to Blue Sky Disney, Lucasfilm will remaster in 3-D and re-release Indiana Jones in theaters. Next month, Lucasfilm will announce that they're converting the Indiana Jones Saga to 3D as well. The films will be converted and released in a similar fashion as the Star Wars films with Raiders of the Lost Ark the first out of the gate.     Paranormal Activity 2 scared up $41.5 million for the weekend and in the process broke the record for a horror film in October. It also becomes the highest grossing opening weekend for supernatural-themed horror ever. The total includes $6.3 million that came from midnight showings on Thursday night which again was another record as the most for an R rated film.     Good news for fans of Battlestar Galactica as a second spin-off series is in the works. The first, Caprica, is currently in the second half of its first season on SyFy but low ratings have put it at risk of being canceled. Caprica is a character drama and focuses on the time on the planet as the Cylons are being created (acting as a prequel to BSG).     New Line has officially announced The Hobbit, an adaptation of the novel from J.R.R. Tolkien, which will be split into two movies.     Talk of a remake of Total Recall has been ongoing over the last few years but the project finally appears to be taking shape. One big step is settling on who will take over the lead role that was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1990 original.
