The animated film Megamind held off challengers, in particular a solid opening from Unstoppable, in order to win its second straight weekend at the box office. Other new openers had decent but unspectacular starts to their runs. Megamind came in second on Friday but surged with strong Saturday and Sunday numbers which is typical for family-oriented films. It made $30 million and now has totaled nearly $90 million in just 10 days. Strong results from 3D screens have helped boost its take and...

The first trailer for Battle: Los Angeles has arrived. The film stars Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez and centers on a marine platoon attempting to fend off an alien invasion in LA. Battle: Los Angeles is slated to release on March 11th 2011. This was one of the movies I was most impressed by at Comic-Con. The footage that was shown was very intense and had almost a video game quality to it. Apparently games did influence the way it was shot and the desire to keep the story focused to ...

AMC has announced they will not be renewing Rubicon, their conspiracy-based original series that recently completed its first season. This comes as little surprise as Rubicon was never able to grow its audience and ratings wise went virtually unwatched. Rubicon was very slow and extremely methodical while carrying a few great characters and a very ominous tone which was refreshing. The final few episodes of the season were excellent, though the finale left a little something to be desired. ...

  • ‘Kung Fu Panda 2′ Teaser Trailer

2008's Kung Fu Panda was a smashing success. The film made $215.4M at the box office and scored well in reviews. Considering how well the film did, it was only a matter of time before there was a sequel. Any studio that has a family film that has this much success will surely milk every penny out of it. I just hope the 'Panda' films don't progressively get worse in the way the Shrek films did. Regardless, Paramount is releasing a sequel to Kung Fu Panda, and the trailer has premiered on Yaho...

Conan O'Brien spent much of the last year since departing NBC doing a live tour show and then preparing for his new show on TBS.
