    Miramax today announced Don't Be Afraid of the Dark will release nationwide on August 12th. The horror film was originally slated to hit theaters early this year but was put on hold during the process of Disney selling off the Miramax division. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark was unveiled back at Comic-Con with a teaser trailer as Guillermo Del Toro introduced the project he wrote and oversaw.     The series premiere of the new AMC original series The Killing, originally planned for a single hour, will now be two hours long and start earlier in the evening. The Killing is a crime thriller that takes on a murder investigation as seen through three different points of view and is based on the popular Danish series Forbrydelsen.     It was a tight race for the top spot at the box office this weekend as the Adam Sandler led Just Go With It faced off against the Justin Bieber biopic Never Say Never. The two other openers resulted in one hit and one disappointment. In first place it was Just Go With It which continues the consistent $30+ million openings that Sandler delivers as it finished with $31 million.     Johnny Depp and director Gore Verbinski, who have worked together on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, re-team for the animated film Rango. The result is not quite what would be expected.     The series premiere of The Chicago Code drew 9.4 million viewers and a 2.4 18-49 rating which will be construed as disappointing in some circles considering the circumstances. Despite having promotion during the Super Bowl, and the entire NFL playoffs where Fox pushed the new series, it didn't become an instant break-out hit and lost about 25% of the viewers and 44% of the critical demo from the House lead-in.
