Though the Golden Globes had some very questionable nominations for the most part there were few surprises when it came to the winners. It was The Social Network coming away with the big prize of Best Drama as well as Best Director, Screenplay, and Score. It now looks to be the clear front-runner for the Best Picture Oscar though it could face a challenge from True Grit. Glee and Boardwalk Empire were the biggest successes of the night coming from the TV categories. (more…)...

Though it wasn't a spectacular opening weekend take The Green Hornet turned in results in line with expectations. The film was able to make $34 million for the three days and is expected to cross $40 million over the four day holiday weekend. The Green Hornet becomes the third highest opener in January history, trailing just Cloverfield and the 1997 re-release of Star Wars. Sony did their best to make the film feel like a summer blockbuster with a heavy marketing push. Reviews were mixed...

The first theatrical trailer for Priest has arrived, a movie that showed initial footage at Comic-Con that I found to be somewhat uninspired along with carrying the dreaded "conversion" 3D. Priest is based on the graphic novel series and follows the “Priests” who have disbanded after completing the task of killing off a vampire uprising. However one is going against the declaration in an attempt to track down the vampires that kidnapped his niece. The film stars Paul Bettany, Maggi...

Just a short time ago Fox announced via Twitter that director Ridley Scott's next project will be a sci-fi epic known as Prometheus. The movie is set to star Noomi Rapace, best known for her performance as Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. A release date of March 9th 2012 has also been nailed down. What does that mean for the long rumored Alien prequels that Scott had been working towards getting up and running? Prometheus is what those have turn...

Just last week we got the first glimpse of Andrew Garfield in the role of Peter Parker with a handful of pictures from the set. Now comes the first image of Garfield as Spider-Man with the release of an official promo photo by Sony. Better to get out in front and release this than have shots of questionable quality or context leak from the set. The Spider-Man reboot has been filming since early December and is heading towards release on July 3rd 2012. Garfield stars along with Emma Stone as G...

Despite a mixed response from audiences and unspectacular box office results, Disney may be set to green light a sequel to Tron: Legacy. According to Aint It Cool News the announcement of a sequel could be coming in the near future. Budgeted at $170 million, but with a marketing push that may have resulted in the total spent having approached $300 million, Disney had hoped that Tron: Legacy would launch a new franchise. They saw it as a "boys" franchise to go along with all the more female ...

Here is first image of Rooney Mara as hacker Lisbeth Salander in the adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Mara beat out some big names for the role which was highly sought after. Based on the novel, the first of a trilogy from Steig Larsson, the story finds a journalist searching for a missing woman and being aided by a hacker.
