Bradley Cooper has quickly become one of the hottest names in Hollywood and recently proved he could deliver a film as the star with Limitless. Now it looks as though he is in line to take over the role of Eric Draven in the remake of the 1994 film The Crow. Draven was played by Brandon Lee in the original and tragically died in an accident on set while filming. Talks are reportedly ongoing with production set to begin in the fall. Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) is set to direct...

Director Zack Snyder's reboot of Superman now has its villain. Michael Shannon has been officially cast in the role of General Zod in Man of Steel. Zod comes from Krypton where he commanded the planet's armed forces, and was portrayed in the original Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980) by Terence Stamp. Snyder: “Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is...

It was a disappointing weekend at the box office as the animated family film Hop held onto the crown in easy fashion. The comedies Arthur and Your Highness disappointed while the action film Hanna and Christian-themed 'based on a true story' Soul Surfer performed well given expectations and smaller budgets. Hop collected another $21.7 million as it fell a reasonable 42% facing little competition in the targeted demographic. That will change with the release of Rio next week. Despite gener...

Four of the big Hollywood movie studios have approved a plan to offer a premium video-on-demand service that will deliver films to homes after just 60 days of being in theaters. The service is set to debut in May on DirecTV with each movie going for $30. Warner Brothers, Fox, Sony, and Universal are all on board. Now that $30 charge may seem extreme at first but all things considered it is reasonable particularly in cases where more than one person will be viewing. Movie tickets these day...

All three new films to open this weekend targeted a different audience and have seen successful returns especially considering their respective budgets. The animated-live action mix Hop came in first place as a family film, Source Code finished second with its sci-fi action, and Insidious brought the horror for third place. A successful streak for family targeted films (with one exception being the bomb Mars Needs Moms) continues as Hop opened to $38.1 million and slightly exceeding expec...

The buzz on The Green Lantern has been weak throughout development and probably hit a low following the teaser trailer's release back in November. Warner Brothers is now saying they had to piece that trailer together due to the FX shots for the majority of the film not being complete and admit that it was a poor representation. Even now work on the FX is taking place at a frantic pace in order to get the movie complete in time. In an effort to start building excitement as its June 17th re...
