Director Roland Emmerich is well known for his penchant to wreck the earth in most spectacular ways possible. Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, and Godzilla are previous attempts at just that. He returns with 2012 as series of events result to the destruction of the world as we know it. The 12/21/2012 date is famous because the Mayan calendar ends on that day leading some believe that it signifies the end of the world. (more…)...

Over the past year there have been reports of various castings being made which have not panned out as well as script ideas or simply the current status. The numbers are in from Friday and 2012 pulled in 23.7 million. While the movie will be somewhat front-loaded that is still a great opening day take. 2012 now looks to be on its way to a 61 million opening weekend. It will end up as a big success despite the risky 200 million budget as disaster movies always draw well overseas. Worldwide it may gross 150 million or more just this weekend. Industry expectations for the opening weekend at one time were for 60+ but had been scaled back somew...

2012 has the feel of a summer blockbuster and as such no other studio placed a film to go up against its opening weekend. A few weeks ago the industry expectations had 2012 bringing in over 60 million for the weekend but as release nears the target number seems to have drifted down to the low-mid 50s. Starring John Cusack and Amanda Peet, 2012 is the work of director Roland Emmerich who has brought previous disaster movies such as Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow to big screen....

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra topped all sold and rented DVDs last week. I'm somewhat surprised it beat Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, as I thought the animated film would hold the top spot for more than a week. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen kept it's spot as the third highest selling movie last week. Below is the list of DVD sales and rentals for the week ending November 7, 2009: Rentrak Top 10 Selling DVDs: 1 G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (Paramount) 2 Ice Age: Dawn of the D...

Headlining with Steve Carell and Tina Fey is a good way to get the attention of comedy fans. Such is the case with Date Night, which follows the two as a couple who get caught up in a lot more than they bargained for while out for a date in New York City. Directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) the movie also includes a bunch of cameos some of which are seen in the trailer. Date Night is currently slated to release on April 9th 2010. ...
