Paramount has released the first trailer for the upcoming Dinner for Schmucks. The movie stars Steve Carell and Paul Rudd and is directed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers and Meet the Parents films). The story focuses on Tim (Rudd) who has only one thing standing between him and total career success, that is finding the perfect guest to bring to his boss’ annual Dinner for Extraordinary People, an event where the winner of the evening brings the most eccentric character as his guest. Ente...

Another new theatrical trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street arrived today. Starring Jackie Earle Haley as the iconic Freddy Krueger the story will be similar in nature to the original from 1984 but will delve deeper into the psychology of the nightmares and Freddy Krueger’s background. I anticipate I'll be getting to see this movie at a screening a couple nights before it is out so look for a review then. A Nightmare on Elm Street is slated to release on April 30th. ...

One of the biggest film franchises is hitting stores this week in High-Def. The Lord of the Rings trilogy will be released on Blu-ray, and you can bet this will be a hot seller. I was surprised to see Cocoon being released on Blu-ray. I'm not sure why someone would want to see this one in hi-def, but to each their own. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray: (more…)...

Two new Iron Man 2 T.V. spots have been released courtesy of TheMovieBox.net. Much of what is seen in both spots is footage revealed in previous trailers. We get a glimpse at "Iron Man's" new armor, "Nick Fury", "Black Widow", "War Machine" and "Whiplash". I thought the third spot was better than the second. Iron Man 2 is slated to release on May 7th 2010. (more…)...

They combined to gross over $140 million domestically. In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors...

  • Clash of the Titans Delivers Big Weekend But Shows Signs of 3D Fatigue

As expected Clash of the Titans easily topped the box office this weekend as it took in $64 million which includes late shows on Thursday night. This actually puts it at the low end of industry expectations but almost precisely where I predicted it would finish. It is a solid opening but not as spectacular as some were looking towards. It saw steeper drop-offs than usual from each day to the next. (more…)...

Dreamworks Animation has delivered their best movie yet with How to Train Your Dragon. It's is a shame that it won't get the same attention as a Pixar film would, as Dragon is of that very caliber. What seems to be the common thread is the emotional attachment to the characters and their plights. Dragon delivers in this regard by providing a fun story that doesn't dumb itself down to appeal to the lowest common denominator. (more…)...
