Expected to be the biggest movie of the summer Iron Man 2 rolls into theaters today. Not surprisingly no other studio wanted to take on Tony Stark, and the only other release is the documentary Babies. The big question is can Iron Man 2 break the opening record currently held by The Dark Knight? (more…)...

The secretive trailer for Super 8 has spurned some huge intrigue over the last few days and it has now debuted in front of Iron Man 2. Yesterday I posted some details on the movie as well as a link over to read a detailed description of the events of the trailer. Generally when a trailer debuts on an event movie it doesn't officially go online until the following Monday. So, in lieu of the official release, we turn to bootleg recordings which are springing up everywhere. Obviously this isn'...

A first trailer for Robert Rodriguez's new action film Machete has been released. The film is produced by Robert Rodriguez and co-directed with Ethan Dummies. Machete centers around a Mexican ex-Federale (Danny Trejo) who is betrayed by his corrupt former boss. A fake trailer for the film ran in between Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse films, Planet Terror and Death Proof. The film's cast is loaded with big names that include Robert Dinero, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodrigu...

Earlier this week news hit that a secret JJ Abrams project would have a trailer debut on Iron Man 2. That trailer has been electronically locked up preventing any leaks of what it could be until now. Speculation was a Cloverfield prequel or sequel. Now Slashfilm has some additional details on Super 8 (which may or may not be the real title for the eventual movie). I can confirm that it is not a Cloverfield sequel or prequel. It is written and directed by JJ Abrams. Yes, produced by S...

Yahoo! has posted a new clip from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The scene is titled 'Sand Trap' and features Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) escaping from, you guessed it, a sand trap. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is slated to release on May 28th. ...

The most anticipated movie of the summer is nearly here as Iron Man 2 hits theaters on Friday. As with any follow-up to a hugely successful film the expectations are off the charts. Can Iron Man 2 live up to them and avoid the potential for disappointment? The simple answer is yes, it absolutely has achieved at least that much. (more…)...
  • Trailer for Secret JJ Abrams Project Debuting With Iron Man 2

When the trailer for Cloverfield arrived from out of nowhere while attached to Transformers it created a ton of buzz that ultimately carried all the way to a big opening for a movie which had no big name stars. That trailer didn't even include the eventual name for the movie, instead just throwing up the release date at the end. It was extremely effective as rarely can anything coming from Hollywood surprise audiences in the way that did these days. Cloverfield was created and produced by J...
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 3D Sequel Coming

Though A Nightmare on Elm Street was universally panned it was able to pull in $32 million its first weekend. That made it the biggest opening for a horror film ever in the April-May months. That was enough to already prompt Warner Bros and New Line to give the go ahead on a sequel. It should be of little surprise by now that of course the sequel will be in 3D. The $32 million is certainly very good, but the film's internal mutliplier suggests that it is going to drop like a rock over the c...
