Sony has released the first trailer for the big screen adaptation of the TV series The Green Hornet. Seth Rogen stars as Britt Reid (Green Hornet) along with Jay Chau as Kato and Cameron Diaz as Leonore Case. The movie has some terrible buzz going for it which was largely the reason it got bumped out of the holiday season and will carry with it completely unnecessary 3D. This trailer though makes it look like it could be a fun ride. The Green Hornet is slated to release on January 14th 2011. ...

I've written on numerous occasions about the DVD rental delay period that Hollywood planned to institute as a means to try and increase DVD sales. From all the way back when it was just an idea I never understood the logic that people would buy a DVD they wouldn't have otherwise just to avoid waiting a month to rent it. Back in early January is when Netflix and Redbox began with delays that were essentially being forced on them in order to survive. It now appears that at least one studio ha...

Although there are only a handful of Blu-ray movies releasing this week, there are two in particular that are worth seeing. The thriller Green Zone, which stars Matt Damon, will surely be something 'Bourne' fans want to see. Those interested in comedy should check out She's Out of My League. Both films received 'Fresh Ratings' on Rottentomatoes.com. Also worth noting is the release of the 6th season of Entourage on DVD. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray:...

  • Toy Story 3 Breaks June Opening Record

Both Toy Story 3 and Jonah Hex exceeded most expectations this weekend, but for completely different reasons. TS3 broke the record for biggest June opening ever while Jonah bombed even worse than anyone had figured it would. For Toy Story 3 most predictions fell in the $85-$100 million range but I felt that the nostalgia factor and appeal to the older crowd would push it over the top and predicted $110 million. Pixar had never opened a film over $70 million so there seemed to be this sense ...

Poots joins Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant and Christopher Mintz-Plasse in the film, which centers on a teen (Yelchin) convinced that his new neighbor (Farrell) is a vamp...
