After its panel at Comic-Con and subsequent early screenings Scott Pilgrim vs The World is riding a wave of almost overwhelming positive buzz. Based on the graphic novel the story follows a guy who has "defeat" the seven evil exes of the girl he likes in order to date her. While the film may not quite reach the "all-time classic" status that some pumped it up to be it is a very entertaining ride and like nothing that has been seen before on the big screen. It will definitely carry the younger ...

MTV had the chance to sit down with Avatar director James Cameron. Despite a re-release in theaters coming August 27, Cameron shared some details on the Avatar sequel. He mentions that the second film would take us to the 'oceans of Pandora'. "I think what we should do there is — because we'll have to have characters that are in and under the water — is that we should actually capture them underwater," Cameron explained. "It's not the same as going diving, but I like to keep m...

Paramount has released the first trailer for Jackass 3D. Word around Comic-Con from those who saw the trailer and limited footage in 3D was how ridiculous it was, which of course is exactly the type of reaction being sought. The addition of 3D is sure to rile up fans of the first two movies that combined to make $136 million. Jackass 3D is slated to release on October 15th. ...

The first trailer for the alien invasion movie Skyline has arrived. Starring Eric Balfour and Donald Faison the story centers on a group of friends trying to survive as alien crafts begin swallowing up all human life. Skyline had an interesting panel at Comic-Con. This trailer was not what was shown (we got a different trailer and several minutes of footage). Basically Skyline is a completely independent film, done on a very low budget, actually filmed out of the apartment owned by the brot...

The Playist blog is reporting that Sony is interested in Christoph Waltz to play the villain in the next Spider-Man. If the rumor is true, Waltz will play Curt Connors (The Lizard). A rumor we heard earlier this week, but neglected to report (because it seemed a little thin), has been validated. Well, sort of. Earlier this week we heard that Sony is interested in "Inglourious Basterds" star Christoph Waltz for the villain character in Marc Webb's 3D reboot of "Spider-Man." The same piece of...

As expected The Other Guys came in #1 at the box office this weekend though slightly exceeding industry expectations. Inception, which had won its first three weekends, slipped to #2 but again held extremely well. The other new opener Step Up 3D had a decent opening but didn't reach the heights that the first two in the series had. The Adam McKay directed The Other Guys, starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, made $35.6 million. The movie had heavy promotion and even got primarily good re...
