Wired.com is reporting that Neville Page is working on JJ Abrams‘ upcoming Super 8. Some might be asking who Neville Page is and what does he do? If you've seen JJ Abrams' Cloverfield, you'd see his work in action. He was the guy who created the creature that terrorizes the city. His credits also include Garfield, Fantastic Four, Superman Returns, The Chronicles of Narnia, Watchmen, Avatar, Piranha 3D, Green Lantern, and Tron: Legacy. Pretty impressive to say the least. You can view the ...

Though it wasn't a huge splash at the box office Piranha 3D did well enough considering its budget to warrant a sequel as Dimension Films has announced today that development has already begun. No details on the story have been given and it doesn't appear a script has even been written yet. Though I didn't completely buy into the movie (review here) it has gotten surprisingly good reviews all around and having been made for just $24 million it is well on its way to becoming profitable. For ...

It was a relatively weak run at the box office where last week's #1 film, The Expendables, dropped 53% to $16.5 million but remained in the top spot despite the opening of five new films. All of the new openers had decent openings considering their budgets but none broke out to be hits. Coming in second was Vampires Suck, which sits amongst the worst reviewed movies of all-time but still made $12.2 million and now sits at $18.5 million since coming out on Wednesday. The parody movie which f...

Piranha 3D wasn't screened early for critics, which is usually an indication that a film isn't going to be received well. Instead the filmmakers just thought the audience being targeted wasn't exactly represented properly by critics so they held off on it. Ironically, critics have come through with generally positive reviews (currently sitting at 83% on RT) and what appears to be some early encouraging word of mouth from audiences. Embracing its outlandish nature is what makes Piranha 3D st...

Summit has released the first trailer for the Fair Game, which is based on the accounts of former CIA operative Valerie Plame. The movie attempts to tell the story of what happened when Plame was outed as being a CIA op after her husband started questioning the Bush administration regarding the truth behind the justification to go into Iraq. It takes into consideration the book from Plame, "Fair Game", as well as her husband Joe Wilson's "The Politics of Truth". Directed by Doug Liman (The Bo...
