The campaigning across the internet for Nathan Fillion unfortunately amounted to nothing. Harry Potter Sets Franchise High Opening
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 opened to $125 million for the weekend making it easily the biggest start for any film in the franchise to date. It made nearly half of that total on Friday (which included the midnight shows) though and that evidences just how front-loaded it was and that may be a sign it won't go on to be the highest grossing total when all is said and done. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 Starts Strong With Midnight Shows
While it didn't turn out to be record breaking as some were anticipating, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 turned in the highest gross for the series from the opening midnight showings. The movie made $24 million which places it third highest in history behind just Twilight: Eclipse and Twilight: New Moon. The projection for the full weekend is now around $135 million. The search is on for the next actor to play Superman in the upcoming reboot. According to Deadline the studio is looking for an actor in the 28-32 age range that is either an unknown or comes from television. The first trailer for Red Riding Hood has been released. The film, which stars Amanda Seyfried and Gary Oldman, is a retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale.
