Following the remarkable NBA 2K11 (which took home top game honors) was never going to be easy and the NBA lockout compounded on that by severely damaging the value of NBA 2K12. Now that the season is underway the product has surged in terms of relevance. Extreme online problems and removal of Crew, bugs afflicting modes like My Player, and poor communication did the damage that even the lockout couldn't enact - but the primary area 2K12 really delivered on was still quite an accomplishme...

The NBA season is now underway and with that comes a brand new roster update for NBA 2K12. The changes include the removal of Jeff Green who is out for the year, Samuel Dalembert signing with the Rockets, DeShawn Stevenson joining the Nets, Mehmet Okur traded to the Nets, Brook Lopez injured (-10 to rating), and Mickael Pietrus released but not yet with the Celtics. The Quincy Pondexter for Greivis Vasquez trade has not been put through yet. The most disappointing thing is no second rounders...

Another roster update for NBA 2K12 arrived this morning and delivers Bismack Biyombo, the seventh overall pick from the draft by the Charlotte Bobcats and rated a low 55 overall, thus completing the first round of rookies. Peja Stojakovic has also been removed after announcing his retirement. That is about the extent of the changes as no additional progress has been made on second rounders and the Rockets signing of Samuel Dalembert hasn't become official yet....

All the first round rookies have been added to NBA 2K12 through the series of roster updates over the last week with the exception of Bismack Biyombo who just signed with the Bobcats yesterday so he should be in the next one. Jonas Valanciunas, Donatas Motiejunas, and Nikola Mirotic are expected to remain overseas and if so would not be a part of 2K12. The biggest winners in having rookies added are obviously the teams that will have multiple contributors (Cavs, Jazz, Bobcats) but there a...

The first round of rookies is nearly complete with Cory Joseph now added to the Spurs. Only Bismack Biyombo remains now that he has been able to negotiate a buyout with his Spanish team allowing him to join the Bobcats immediately. Justin Harper, the 32nd pick and traded to the Magic, has become the first of the second rounders...

The daily roster updates for NBA 2K12 that began on Monday, in an effort to catch up on rookie signings and other transactions, continue by this morning delivering the big trade that went down last night between the Clippers and Hornets. Chris Paul has been moved to LA with Eric Gordon and others landing in New Orleans. This update also takes J.J. Barea to the Timberwolves and Delonte West to the Mavericks. After five days of turmoil surrounding Chris Paul - which at one point had him headed to the Lakers only to have the NBA nix the deal - he is officially on the move. Paul will be playing in LA after all but instead it'll be for the Clippers. In exchange the Hornets receive Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu, and the unprotected first round pick of Minnesota's. It's a huge haul for New Orleans considering they had next to no leverage in making a deal for Paul but still got both t...
