EA Sports was unable to generate excitement for NBA Live 13 at E3 - in fact they left the event with perception of the game taking a large hit from its already fairly low level of regard from the media. Since then the company has gone largely quiet regarding Live - with the exception of tweeting out first round draft pick overall ratings - which projects the impression that they don't have what is needed to generate positive momentum or may not be confident in the product at this point in ti...

The overall ratings from NBA Live 13 that EA Sports provided for the rookies drafted in the first round won't tell you much about the player's skill levels or effectiveness in the upcoming game. They're essentially empty numbers with no context and varying by only a few points here and there between most of the picks made their reveals fairly uninteresting. What is evident however from those overall ratings is that the new development team is reverting to a more traditional ratings scale ...

EA Sports went largely silent on NBA Live 13 following its disappointing appearance at E3. Though the news was broken well in advance of today's announcement the cover of NBA 2K13 will feature the trio of Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, and Derrick Rose. What was unclear was whether there would be different versions of the cover - as was the case with NBA 2K12 - or all three sharing a single cover. With NBA 2K13 there will only be a single cover featuring all of them together. Check out the full image here.  (more…)...

Though they are both coming to an end in their own ways - with the NBA Finals wrapping up and 2K Sports' MLB series all but officially canned - the NBA 2K12/MLB 2K12 Combo Pack for the Xbox 360 makes for a compelling package at the right price. Based on the completed image that 2K Sports is only still gradually revealing but has been sent my way the NBA 2K13 cover will feature Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, and Derrick Rose. It's unclear whether the three will share a single cover or if there will be a variety of covers as was the case with 2K12 (Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird). There is also the strong possibility that Michael Jordan will again be featured in some capacity. Though not the actual cover the image is sai...
