2K Sports today released the first official screenshot for Xbox One/PS4 NBA 2K14. That in itself isn't especially newsworthy after having seen brief footage of how the game should look with the E3 teaser and the recent TV commercial. However putting the next-gen LeBron James up against current-gen will make the differences really stand out. Even details like how the jersey doesn't float over the shoulders and the fix being made so the single digit number is under the "T" rather than the "...
  • Prospects Especially Strong for NBA 2K14 Heading Into Next-Gen

The polls posted a few days ago to gauge how consumers are now approaching the upcoming next-gen sports games shows that each of them are in a completely unique place. NBA 2K14 looks to be the most anticipated even though nothing is known about it, FIFA 14 carries strong support for the transition, Madden NFL 25 has stumbled as of late, and NBA Live 14 remains a product yet to provide any reason for consumers to consider it.  (more…)...
  • NBA 2K14 Patch Addresses VC Exploits

The first patch was released today for NBA 2K14 and introduces a fix for at least one issue that had been discovered since the game released early this month. Essentially saving a game late in the fourth quarter allowed for users to load up the save and take the VC winnings only to come right back and be able to do so from the same late-game situation over and over. Another exploit utilizing Paypal and fake accounts to get VC also appears to now be blocked. The VC system was introduced...

NBA LIVE Ultimate Team delivers a complete fantasy basketball experience to your console. Build your dream team by collecting the best players in the NBA, and then take your squa...
  • With Next-Gen Nearing What Are Your Current Plans Regarding Sports Games?

With only five weeks until the launch of next-gen the four sports titles on-hand for release have shown and described very little of substance to convince consumers that they should be considered for purchase. Outside of FIFA 14, which by appearing at various conferences resulted in lengthy gameplay videos making it to the public, they've either barely been seen and disappointed (Madden NFL 25) or have been kept hidden (NBA 2K14, NBA Live 14). Back in early August the polls showed a signi...
  • Early Deal on NBA 2K14 for 360

As has been the case with other recent sports titles a deal has emerged just days after release of NBA 2K14. Amazon is offering the Xbox 360 version right now for $49. The quantity at this price is likely limited so take advantage ASAP if interested. This would be of interest especially to those who plan on buying an Xbox One in November. Amazon is offering the trade-in deal of $50 on NBA 2K14 (also Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14) that could be put towards the Xbox One version. In this scenari...
  • EA Sports Misses Their Prime Opportunity to Showcase NBA Live 14

The one advantage that EA Sports held over the competition in regards to NBA Live 14 was an ability to promote the game and their best interests early. The company did not have a current-gen offering to be concerned with overshadowing and they would only benefit by pushing more consumers to wait for next-gen. That they let this window pass without doing much of anything is another bad sign that will only increase skepticism until they prove they have a product on their hands that is worthy o...
  • Your Thoughts on NBA 2K14

NBA 2K14 released this week to reduced fanfare due in part to the next-gen version - which 2K Sports decided to begin promoting the day prior the 360/PS3 version reaching stores - which is just around the corner and a lack of new features to inspire excitement in the product. Review scores are down with the Metacritic currently five points lower than 2K13. Despite that the changes made to gameplay have been largely recognized as valuable and that may be enough for some coming off such a s...
