2K Sports today laid out the details on the pre-order incentive being offered with NBA 2K15. Last year had the "King James Bonus Pack" and this time around it's the "Kevin Durant MVP Bonus Pack". This bonus is expected to be retailer wide rather than differ based on where the game is bought and hopefully will be offered to those who digitally download as well. To no one's surprise Virtual Currency is involved, however the presence there doesn't necessarily mean 2K is continuing on with...

Sony today announced details on the PlayStation Plus content coming to members for free in June. Among the games being offered is NBA 2K14 on the PS3. Subscribers of PS+ will be able to download it for free during the month and then keep it as long as membership is current. The PS3 and Xbox 360 version of NBA 2K14 was quickly forgotten by 2K Sports, who moved all attention to the Xbox One/PS4 version immediately after release and never provided any further support for it. However...

2K Sports yesterday released a new patch for NBA 2K14 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It marks the fourth update to the game since its release with earlier ones having to address numerous serious issues. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions did not get a single patch as the company moved its focus almost entirely to the new systems once they had shipped. This patch primarily works to improve The Park mode, but also fixes a particular freeze bug in MyCareer, and prevents duplicate players from...

  • Fans Split Between Two Potential Replacements for Steve Kerr in NBA 2K
    by
    Posted May 15th, 2014 at 10:00 am 24 Comments »
The news yesterday that Steve Kerr has been hired as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors will have ramifications for the NBA 2K series going forward. Kerr has been part of the commentary team since 2K12. Unless 2K Sports had planned ahead for this possibility, knowing for a while the interest he had in becoming a coach, it may be too late to switch him out of 2K15 in favor of someone else. Regardless, whether this year or the next, it will have to be done. The poll posted two w...

On the same day Kevin Durant was officially named league MVP, 2K Sports has announced that he'll also be on the cover of NBA 2K15 due out on October 7. It'll be coming to the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, 360, and PC. This will be the fourth video game cover for Durant. He appeared on NBA 2K13 (along with Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose) and March Madness 08. He was also set to be on the cover of NBA Elite 11. When that was cancelled he found out through Twitter which soured his relationship with EA...
  • Who Would You Want To Replace Steve Kerr on the NBA 2K Commentary Team?

That Steve Kerr is going to be strongly considered for head coach of the New York Knicks is beyond just rumor at this point. Should he take a coaching position there or somewhere else he'll obviously be out as an announcer in the NBA 2K series which he has been a part of since 2K12. That change could be happening right now or more likely to be a year away but the switch would be inevitable. He would not be available to do additional voiceover work and it would be really awkward to have hi...
  • Troy Daniels Added to NBA 2K14 Roster

Arguably the most fascinating story of the NBA Playoffs to this point is the emergence of Troy Daniels. Signed by the Houston Rockets in February, Daniels spent most of the time since in the D-League. He was called back up to the Rockets on April 9th and played in three late season games. Daniels was named to the playoff roster for the team, was the hero in winning game three of the series against Portland, and was a huge contributor in game four. Despite having been on the Rockets earlie...
