2K Sports generally releases an official trailer for the upcoming NBA 2K games in late August. They got a jump on that today by pushing out a clip (PS4/XB1) likely pulled from that future trailer through cover athlete Kevin Durant's Instagram page. Unfortunately that means it's limited to 15 seconds and isn't great quality, but it still represents the first look at the game which doesn't even have a screenshot out with just over two months until release. There's not much to go on from the...

Last year 2K Sports announced the eagerly-anticipated return of Crew mode to NBA 2K14 on 360 and PS3. The mode had been stripped out after 2K11, without any sort of notification to fans, which created quite a bit of animosity. 2K did those people no favors however when it turned out "Crews" was nothing like the Crew mode they wanted back. Today the company announced proper "Crew" mode is returning in NBA 2K15 but only to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It's fairly rare to see any yearly s...

The decision has finally been made - LeBron James is going back to the Cleveland Cavaliers. James spent four years in Miami after crushing Cleveland's spirit, getting to the NBA Finals every year and winning two championships. The details of the contract with the Cavs are still unknown. This single signing will have a monumental affect on the balance of power not just in the NBA but in the video games as well. The Cavs will go from being one of the least used teams to likely the most used...

EA Sports today released a new developer blog and video detailing enhancements to graphics that have been made for NBA Live 15. Prior to E3 the company released the first image which showcased six player faces that had been dramatically improved due to the head scanning process. Areas that have received significant work besides the player likenesses include arena lighting, jerseys, shot clock, shoes, and LED boards. The poor visuals were far from the only thing wrong with NBA Liv...

In testimony earlier this week in the Ed O'Bannon case vs the NCAA, an Electronic Arts representative expressed the desire the company has to develop college-based video games in the future. Joel Linzner, EVP of Business & Legal, stated EA would be "very interested in acquiring the rights" of players to use in the games. Of course this would require the NCAA to remove most if not all restrictions on the "amateur" status of athletes which is what the class action suit is attempting ...

The poor visuals particularly for a title that was built for the next-gen consoles, with players that often looked nothing like themselves, were a barrier of entry for many when it came to NBA Live 14. It was tough enough to justify buying Live over 2K14 considering everything else but when the graphics couldn't even compare that made the decision that much easier for consumers. Rather than talk about NBA Live 15 at E3 today - no matter what claims were made they would have been dismis...
