For the second year now fans will be able to start their MyCareer in NBA 2K a week prior to release. The free Prelude will go out on Friday, September 8 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Prelude for NBA 2K17 featured the college portion of the story mode which involved 10 different licensed universities and a series of games. The progress made was then carried over to the full game when purchased. The "2KU" tutorial mode and MyPlayer creation and customization capabilities were also pac...

One of the bigger complaints with the design of NBA Playgrounds relates to the manner in which players are obtained. Playing the game leads to earning new card packs, but it's completely luck of the draw and at a certain point duplicates end up taking over the openings and frustration sets in if seeking one or more specific players. Some people may have received the player/s they wanted most right away and others may still be waiting for them to fall into their laps. Saber Interactive has...

There's no doubt that 2K Sports has admirably invested in its franchise modes in recent years but the experiences between MyGM and MyLeague were not dramatically different besides the customization freedom given by the latter. With NBA 2K18 the MyGM mode is becoming more narrative-driven, making it more along the lines of the MyCareer player story mode but playing the role of general manager instead.  (more…)...

While soundtracks in sports video games have taken on reduced importance in recent years, 2K Sports has continued to put considerable effort into using them to create additional buzz for upcoming NBA 2K games. Today the full soundtrack was detailed for NBA 2K18. After years of headliners that supposedly helped to put together the playlists such as Jay-Z, Pharrell, Imagine Dragons and LeBron James, this year there's no big name fronting it. There are 50 songs on the NBA 2K18 soundtrack ...

While nothing is yet known about NBA 2K18 those who want to play with the incoming rookies and all the player movement of the offseason don't need to wait two months for that game to arrive to do so. For those unaware, user-created rosters that feature up-to-the-moment transactions and the addition of rookies are available to download and use for new franchises or single games. It's a subject that was just covered on Sporting News. In order to download the rosters go to Features/Options f...
