The first official trailer for NBA 2K11 has made its way out. Apparently the trailer includes a mix of 2K11 footage with 2K10 (why they would include old footage is beyond me) so it would probably be premature to over-examine this. However it is the first opportunity to see the game somewhat in action and the visuals and player control have been the aspects concentrated on in early reports. Continue on to watch the trailer and leave your thoughts in the comments! (more…)...

Last year both NBA games had their share of issues but 2K Sports and EA Sports engaged in an ugly campaign meant to put down the competition's product. The back and forth included 2K questioning the first patch for NBA Live 10 and its inclusion of community feedback. EA Sports retaliated with a blog showcasing complaints about NBA 2K10 and all the people who were selling it on Craigslist. It was an embarrassing series of events that ended up making both companies look bad and created the perce...

At the cover athlete announcement party earlier this week those in attendance got a chance to try out NBA Elite 11. Out of that has come a video which shows the game in action  presenting extended stretches of play with Lebron James going up against cover athlete Kevin Durant. The quickness and responsiveness comes through at the same time displaying a lack of momentum and weight along with a sense of frantic action that doesn't always fit within the context of what is taking place. One ...

While the competition is touting change they believe to be revolutionary 2K Sports appears to be resting comfortably at this early stage. The announcement of Michael Jordan as the cover athlete and inclusion within the game was big but the core gameplay advancements and features remain as unknowns. At E3 2K showed off NBA 2K11 to some media outlets which is how we initially found out about the scrapping of Isomotion. Otherwise the focus was primarily on the visuals. Kotaku has a good write-...

While Brandon Jennings may have some role in the promotion of NBA Elite 11 he won't be the cover athlete. EA Sports has revealed that Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant has received the cover honors for the game. Durant was also on the cover of another EA Sports game back with March Madness 08. “Durant is a game changer,” said Jordan Edelstein, VP Marketing, EA SPORTS. “There has never been a player his size with his skill set, and there has never before been a b...

Brandon Jennings has been featured in NBA Elite 11 screenshots and even the first footage of the game leading many to believe he has been selected to be the cover athlete for NBA Elite 11. That may be the case as the cover is being announced tonight at an EA Sports run event in New York and what player arrived in NYC this morning? Brandon Jennings. This still amounts to speculation but all the factors seem to suggest more than coincidence or at least that he will play some role in promotion of...

Be a Pro mode was rolled out in NBA Live 09 though just in name and not in terms of content. It was simply one-off games taking control of a current NBA player and was better thought of as a practice mode for Online Team Play. There was no character creation or progression involved and no structure to it beyond just being simple play now games. We can basically forget about all that though as a true Be a Pro mode, similar in nature to the one found in the NHL or FIFA series, will arrive in ...
