A patch released today for NBA Live 18 on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 has added a 3v3 variant to the online pick-up mode called Live Run. The 3v3 joins the standard 5v5 Live Run that has become a staple of the series. 3v3 can be played either with random teammates or together with friends. The third major patch for NBA 2K18 has released on PlayStation 4 and will be coming to Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch in the coming days. 2K18's first patch of real substance released at the end of September and addressed a framerate problem following timeouts and made attribute ratings visible when purchasing upgrades in MyCareer. Sales results for September in North America are out via NPD and the sports games made their presence felt as they do every year. In a month with ridiculous competition within the genre NBA 2K18 finished second, Madden NFL 18 right behind it in third, FIFA 18 came in fourth, and NHL 18 was eighth. Details on the third patch for NBA Live 18
After adding in the Nike Statement uniforms and addressing a number of issues identified through community feedback, the latest patch for NBA Live 18 released today and tweaks some areas of gameplay along with career and franchise modes. Maybe the most notable change is the tuning of playoff simulations, which was noted in my review for problematic results which were common such as the Knicks and Mavericks winning the NBA Finals.
