It is scheduled to arrive early tomorrow morning for the PS3, tomorrow for the 360, and undetermined for the PC as the approval process is being completed. NBA Jam Initial Impressions
NBA Jam does many things well but still faces quite a bit of scrutiny. Arguably the biggest question centers on value given that EA Sports eroded the brand by advertising it as being "free" with NBA Elite 11. Value is always a subjective thing but I don't see that being the problem with the game. Various gameplay frustrations and some issues with online play though have soured me on NBA Jam already which doesn't bode well going forward. (more…)...
IGN Calls NBA Elite Cancellation Courageous
Typically I don't bother with articles written about developments in the sports gaming world from the mainstream media sites, however this instance just couldn't be ignored in its audacity. It appears IGN is trying to assist EA Sports in the image rebuilding process of their NBA franchise. It reads like a PR piece prompted by EA and ends up doing readers a disservice. (more…)...
NBA Jam Hard Drive Evaluation
Continuing with the series of Xbox 360 hard drive installation evaluations I've gone through and compared several areas of NBA Jam based on loading times from the disk vs the hard drive. Your Thoughts on NBA Jam
NBA Jam for the 360 and PS3 came out today and offers everything found in the Wii version that released last month but adds in the enhanced graphics and online functionality. The HD version of NBA Jam also includes an expanded menu of online modes which are delivered via patch at start-up such as online co-op, a rank-up system, and "Remix". No word on when the first roster update will arrive but here are the base rosters for the Eastern and Western conferences.
I really enjoyed in my time w...
NBA Jam HD Online Features Are Ready
NBA Jam is releasing tomorrow for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and along with it will be the expanded online feature set delivered via patch. Until now those extra online features, including online co-op and Remix mode online, only had a tentative arrival of "by December". The patch will be available immediately.
As discussed previously to a great degree, much of the difficulty in releasing NBA Jam on its own has been that EA Sports devalued the game by advertising it as being a free pack-in with N...
NBA 2K11 NBA Today Impressions
It may have taken a full month but the NBA Today feature in NBA 2K11 is fully functioning. NBA Today delivers dynamic commentary that calls upon real life events and graphics that display updated records and stats from around the league. This is delivered primarily through the quick games and online games however also comes into play in Association mode. (more…)...
