On the same day that owners have officially locked out the players 2K Sports has released the first screenshot for NBA 2K12 which features the NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks going up against the Miami Heat. Visible in the image are Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, DeShawn Stevenson, and Tyson Chandler.

Through all the events of last week one piece of news that will impact an upcoming title flew somewhat under the radar. Mark Jackson accepted the job coaching the Golden State Warriors. Having joined on as commentators for the canceled NBA Elite 11 the ABC trio of Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy, and Jackson had been slated to continue even as the series is being retooled for release in October 2012. NBA 2K12 made a surprise appearance at the Sony press conference on Monday evening. The game was on hand for a demonstration of the PlayStation Move functionality for the PS3. Earlier this evening 2K Sports dropped the first trailer for NBA 2K12 prior to the start NBA Finals game one. The trailer had already debuted on NBATV but the exposure it got during pre-game on network TV is much more valuable. NBA Extends Licensing Agreements with EA Sports and 2K Sports
Today the NBA announced new multi-year licensing agreements with both Take Two and Electronic Arts to produce official video games for the league. The agreement covers both simulation and arcade titles for consoles, web, and mobile devices.
