Screenshot comparison: March Madness 08 vs College Hoops 2K8
Recently the first screenshots from both EA Sports' March Madness 08 and 2K Sports' College Hoops 2K8 made their way out. I've taken three comparable screens from each and paired them up for a closer look at the graphical match-up between them. With College Hoops due out on November 20th and March Madness on December 18th, the two games don't really go up head-to-head, but inevitably they will be compared to one another in features, graphics, and gameplay.

March Madness 08 first hands-on preview
Gamespot has posted up the first look at March Madness 08, and IGN has since followed with theirs. I've grabbed some segments from them and left my thoughts. The first three in-game screens can be found in the screenshot gallery. Also just as an update, from what I've been able to gather the game appears to still be on track for a Tuesday December 18th release date.

College Hoops 2K8 first hands-on and trailer
Gamespot has posted up their initial run through of College Hoops 2K8. You can also catch the first trailer for the game by continuing on.
The sixth-man feature in 2K8 is represented as a meter that's shown at the bottom of the screen during a game. By default, the meter is green and will be filled depending on which team you're using (a big program like Duke, for example, will start with about half of its meter filled when playing at Cameron Indoor Arena). Performing successful plays such ...
March Madness 08 release date uncertainty
One thing that remains up in the air is the release date for March Madness 08. Prior indications have been that it will be released in December. Gamestop/EB has the date as Tuesday 12/18.
However today a press release came out that touted EA's Holiday lineup of games. March Madness was not included while other upcoming games set to hit stores in November and December were.
So does this mean that March Madness 08 may not be out until January? It could be a sign of that, or possibly it was ...

Images from March Madness 08
I found these images buried in a recent asset CD that I received from EA in preparation for the NBA Live 08 release. They obviously weren't intended to be included on the disc but since they were I feel at liberty to display them on the site.
They are in relation to March Madness 08 which makes these screens the first to be revealed from the game. They appear to be detailing improvements made to the uniforms, player models, and t-shirts.

College Hoops 2K8 cover athlete loses season to injury
The news that Greg Oden, the #1 pick in the draft by the Portland Trailblazers, will miss the entire season due to a knee injury brings up an interesting question. Oden is the cover athlete for College Hoops 2K8. With the tentative release date of November 5th, would it be too late for 2K to change the cover? And would they even want to if they could?
Back when it was announced on June 27th, Oden was the obvious choice to represent College Hoops. Kevin Durant had already been snagged by EA fo...
Odd cover art choices for the NCAA basketball games
The two big names from college basketball making their way into the NBA this year are of course Greg Oden and Kevin Durant. Oden was chosen as cover athlete for College Hoops 2K8 and Durant is representing NCAA March Madness 08.
The cover art for the two games were revealed recently. Something about both of them struck me as being strange. They come across as unnatural for various reasons. There had to have been better options than these right?
First of all that doesn't even look like Oden...
