The news on NBA 2K12 started pouring out yesterday - with everything from player ratings to the first information on Association mode and online play. The latter came from those who have obtained copies of the game already which also has led to gameplay videos being posted. To this point 2K Sports has only released one official video - while other glimpses at the game have come from off-screen recorded footage or through the demo. Though most of the videos showing up are not great quality...
  • First NBA 2K12 Association and Online Details Beginning to Emerge

Since 2K Sports has yet to discuss either Association mode or online play - and NBA 2K12 is set to release in less than a week - it's no surprise that now details are starting to leak out from individuals who have obtained the game early. It's far from the most ideal way to collect information or check out gameplay videos especially since they all seem to be coming from cell phone cameras so far. This is the situation 2K created though by holding off so long (retailers don't even have ful...

Though having revealed many of the player ratings for NBA 2K12 on Twitter earlier today it made sense to compile the top ones here - all those rated 80 or higher. For others make sure to check the Twitter timeline given that all the teams have been run through there. Overall it seems the median has been lowered this year as many players have dropped - and Dirk Nowitzki sitting at just an 85 overall is prompting the most discussion. 2K12 features one extra player rated 90+ but two less rat...
  • NBA 2K12 To Have Legend-Based DLC; Historic Teams Online for a Price

When the news was first reported that historic teams would not be available to play online in NBA 2K12 that was a big disappointment. Considering that rosters are largely the same as last year due to the lockout they would have provided some much needed variety and been the incentive to play online. 2K Sports didn't really comment on the subject to explain why that was - but now it appears to be evident. The option will be available through paid downloadable content called "The Legends Showc...

Now just one week out from release of NBA 2K12 the unique circumstances are about to be realized as there is no end in sight for the league lockout. 2K12 will arrive largely using last years rosters and without any rookies - with features such as NBA Today being negated. In exchange 2K Sports offers an increased focus on legends and historic teams though they will not be playable online. Despite the nearing release the company has yet to talk at all about Association mode or online play w...

With just over a week until NBA 2K12 releases 2K Sports has yet to discuss what has been done this year for Association mode (though we know it will have an online component) and anything to do online play. Instead of finally getting to those areas today the company released a new blog going over all the additions and improvements made to audio. 2K12 features a three man booth by bringing in Steve Kerr, revamped color commentary, and enhancements to the way big moments are called. The NBA...

Out now for the Xbox 360 (will be able to queue up the download here) and having arrived this afternoon for the PS3 is the demo for NBA 2K12 which features a rematch of the NBA Finals with the Miami Heat at Dallas Mavericks. The demo is 1.11 GB and structured with a single four minute quarter with the user locked to the Mavs, lacks options to change difficulty or sliders or camera angles, and has had commentary stripped out. As always leave your thoughts and observations on the demo in the c...
  • All About NBA 2K12’s Controls

    Posted September 19th, 2011 at 5:45 pm 15 Comments »
Though much of the news as of late on NBA 2K12 has been discouraging, with the revelation that historic teams are not playable online and that no rookies will be included on the rosters essentially making them identical to last year's due to the lockout, the demo is about to arrive and that will at least temporarily demand the attention. The demo will be out tomorrow at approximately 5am ET on the Xbox 360 and 6pm ET on the PS3. In advance of the demo check out all the controls and move ...
