The fifth post-release patch for NBA 2K16 went out today on PS4 and is expected to follow soon on Xbox One. It does not appear this is the possible "Steph Curry Patch" first discussed back in March based on the provided notes, however instead it will heavily affect the sketchy ongoing "Road to the Finals" competition by addressing heavily utilized gameplay exploits. ♦Updated player portraits for a number of players. ♦Tuned the effectiveness of long outlet passes for players with th...

Yesterday 2K Sports announced the Kobe Bryant Legend Edition of NBA 2K17, and given the way he went out in his final game they couldn't have written a story better for promotion of the upcoming product. It's not just the special edition that has gone up for pre-order however. The standard edition of the game is also available, and both are 20% off for Amazon Prime members. That makes the Legend Edition $64 and the standard edition $48. While the Legend Edition will also be made available ...

With the licensing in place for 10 universities to appear in NBA 2K16 it's surprising that it took all the way until March for some official gear to show up in the game's 2K Sports Store. Today the first two college-licensed articles were added for purchase with in-game currency. Available now is a Steph Curry Davidson Wildcats jersey and a James Harden Sun Devils jersey. They both cost 5,000 VC. The jerseys can be worn by MyPlayers in MyPark and MyCourt. NBA 2K16 features Arizona,...

Earlier this week on the Press Row Podcast two NBA 2K gameplay developers joined the show to discuss the development challenge that Stephen Curry has become for prestigious video game series. Curry hasn't relented since and on Wednesday night made another absurd shot from beyond half-court. He's now shooting 68% on shots from 28-50 feet out. The subject of getting his virtual self right isn't going away, and 2K Sports is working towards giving Curry the abilities that he has in real life i...

It's been such a remarkable season for Steph Curry that developers are struggling to find a way to fit what he does into simulation video games and there are no simple solutions for how to deal with him. In NBA 2K16 he reached 99 ratings in both three-point shooting categories earlier this year but even that isn't close to doing him justice. Today Curry rose a point to 98 Overall in NBA 2K16. That establishes him to be playing, at this point in time, at a level only exceeded in history by...
