NBA 2K17 has had two major updates affecting player ratings since last checking in on the rosters in late January. Back then Nikola Jokic was in the midst of a meteoric rise and that has since continued as he is up another 2 points now to 87 Overall. A couple new players have reached the 90 Overall threshold replacing those who dropped out. Kyrie Irving and John Wall have moved up to 90 while DeMar DeRozan and Jimmy Butler are down to 89. Recently acquired DeMarcus Cousins, who has had so...

The long-anticipated trade of DeMarcus Cousins finally materialized last night with a deal that sends him and Omri Casspi to the New Orleans Pelicans. In return the Sacramento Kings receive 2017 1st and 2nd round picks, Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, and Langston Galloway. The Kings organization is being ridiculed for the deal and NBA 2K17 agrees that they got a poor return for their superstar who is ranked as the 7th best player in the league. The Kings won't do this deal in NBA 2K17 pic.twi...

The numerous patches to go out recently for NBA 2K17 have attempted to address a variety of issues but in the process may have contributed to creating another one. In the days following the release of the patch this last weekend reports have begun to flow in through social media and sites such as Operation Sports and Reddit from users who have found their online leagues are no longer functioning properly. Whether this will ultimately be dealt with server side, or as another painfully lar...

Another update is now available to download in NBA 2K17 and becomes the ninth post-release patch of substance this year. For whatever reason on PS4 the updates have required a massive download of 7.6GB on each occasion. Considering four of them have been rolled out in the last 10 days, those who own the game on that system have been forced to download over 30GB of data over that short stretch of time which is problematic to say the least. This latest patch deals with matchmaking issues in...

The NBA and 2K Sports today announced an unprecedented partnership with the hopes of creating the next big eSport. NBA 2K eLeague will launch in 2018 and eventually every NBA team will run one of the eSport franchises within a professional sports league structure. It'll be important for money not to be a factor in shaping the characters utilized in the NBA 2K eLeague. Competitive balance will be key as currently the competitions with the game involve characters that have been built up thr...

The rosters for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game were filled out yesterday with the announcement of the reserves and now today the teams have been updated in NBA 2K17. Last week the uniforms were added but even still the game in 2K17 is played in last year's venue of Toronto. Hopefully that'll be updated to New Orleans with the 2017 ASG court soon. Based on the NBA 2K17 player ratings the Western Conference has the stronger roster. The average Overall Rating is 91.4 compared to the Easter...

It's been over a month since last checking in with the player ratings in NBA 2K17 and in that time there have been a few updates reacting to roster changes and player performance. LeBron James remains the highest rated player in the game at 96 Overall but there have been some changes with other MVP-caliber players. Kevin Durant and James Harden (+1) are back to 95, tying with Russell Westbrook and Kawhi Leonard as the next highest rated in 2K17. The biggest riser over the recent st...
