2K Sports has released the first screenshot for NBA 2K10 and it features the new Cleveland Cavalier Shaquille O'Neal. Lebron James is also visible in the background doing his pre-game chalk routine. The cover of NBA 2K10 is set to be announced tonight with Kobe Bryant taking the honors. Bryant has been on the cover of numerous other NBA games in the past most recently on SCEA's NBA series. This was the year, as we've seen with the sales numbers, that consumers overwhelmingly identified the NBA 2K series as the definitive choice for basketball gamers. NBA 2K9 Team-Up Mode Not Fixed By Patch
One of the supposed fixes in the patch for NBA 2K9 was to make the 5 on 5 Team-Up mode playable. The mode has never worked properly having been inflicted with crippling lag (the worst I've ever experienced), disconnects, and frustration. I was concerned with the wording in the patch details and wanted to see how much it improved the performance. NBA 2K9 Patch Details
The patch for NBA 2K9 will be available for the PS3 early Wednesday morning and should follow for the 360 in the near future. There are a pretty significant number of fixes and improvements included in the patch. It'll be interesting to find out how much is seen in regards to online play, especially with the Team-Up mode. NBA 2K9 Dominates Basketball Sales
The full Top 20 in sales for October has been released by NPD. NBA 2K9 placed at #9 with the 360 version selling 202,000 copies while the PS3 version came in at #17. Not even the 360 version of NBA Live 09 was able to reach the Top 20. This is a huge increase year over year for the NBA 2K series. 2K8 didn't make the Top 10 last year meaning it sold less than 117,000 copies on the 360. While many sports titles haven't seemed to grow much with increased user base clearly this isn't the case...
