Both SCEA and 2K Sports have released their respective soundtrack listings for MLB 10: The Show and MLB 2K10. I've always found myself enjoying the songs included on baseball games more than any others. They seem to be able to fit the spring/summer mood and are usually more upbeat than those included in other games. Continue on check out the tracks and leave your thoughts in the comments! (more…)...
  • MLB 10: The Show Catcher Blog

SCEA has released yet another blog this time with the focus being playing as the catcher in Road to the Show. You can check out the full blog, though it is surprisingly brief, including a few new screenshots here. The catcher is a key part of every single pitch in the game. He is arguably just as responsible for the outcome of a pitch as the pitcher. So when making MLB 10: The Show, we kept that in mind. Personally I don't see myself getting into this as a catcher, especially considering how...

While everyone waits for the first gameplay videos to arrive for MLB 2K10, Game Informer has been posting a running blog detailing the experience with the game in My Player and Franchise. Just added to the blog earlier today are the overall ratings for every team with the default rosters. Keep in mind that these team ratings are likely reflections of rosters as of January 15th which is when the roster cut-off generally takes place for MLB games. Updated rosters could alter the team ratings ...

Continue on for a quick recap on the status of the games at the moment. Vote in the poll regarding which game you are planning to purchase and leave your...
  • MLB 11 Could Have Motion Control

In an interview with Gametrailers one of the designers from MLB 10: The Show made quick reference to the topic of motion control. It will come as little surprise that the possibility of utilizing motion control is something that has been discussed though he went on to state that they do have plans for it in the future. Sony has the still unnamed motion control wand for the PS3 in development which should be out before the arrival of MLB 11: The Show. (more…)...
  • Trailer for MLB 10: The Show

SCEA has released the official trailer for MLB 10: The Show which mixes game footage with real MLB video footage and commentary. A trailer such as this isn't intended to communicate much about game or show how it'll be when its actually played but instead bring out the emotion of the sport from watching it and get people jacked about picking up the game. The website advertised at the end doesn't appear to exist yet though which is odd considering the game is just over three weeks out from rele...

While it may be viewed as an act of desperation with 2K Sports expecting to lose $30-40 million from their baseball gaming division in 2010 they are pulling out all the stops to try and push sales of MLB 2K10. Not only did they announce the $1 million prize for throwing the first perfect game but they are also offering multiple pre-order incentives. Those who pre-order MLB 2K10 from Gamestop will receive a free Fathead Jr. (MSRP $40) and a coupon for $5 off the purchase of a hat from Lids. ...
  • MLB 10: The Show Real Time Presentation

SCEA has released another new blog for MLB 10: The Show this time detailing the real time presentation that has been added for this year. Rather than just talk about the concept behind it they've done something interesting by creating a video that shows via picture-in-picture what is seen while playing the game up against the live production camera that is used for this presentation style. From the pitcher toeing the rubber until the next batter walks up to the dish, you’ll experience...
