Based on a statement given in an interview with the[a]listdaily, 2K Sports has made their intention known of supporting the upcoming motion control systems for the PS3 and 360. Playstation Move and Project Natal will both be out in time for the holidays. The discussion was more regarding Move, but it would seem likely that they are looking at offering Natal supported products as well. Presumably the motion controls would be instituted in next year's games and would not be patched into any t...

Last week I posted up polls to gauge the reaction to MLB 10: The Show and MLB 2K10. The results are very interesting. While 2K10 fell about where would be anticipated, the general sense that there is growing discontent towards The Show has been confirmed. Given that the expectations for the two titles were completely different, the numbers are better looked at to analyze the games as individuals rather than for any sort of comparison. (more…)...

After collecting over 46,000 votes based on 20 players faces from MLB 10: The Show and MLB 2K10, it is The Show that comes out on top with a score of 11-8-1. The biggest thing learned through the process and the voting results is that 2K has surged into the discussion and is now hit or miss, just like The Show, instead of terrible across the board as was the case last year. Continue on for a breakdown of the voting on player faces in the two MLB games. (more…)...

No one can reasonably expect a perfect game, there will never be one. However consumers do have a right to expect a finished game. What we have this year, with MLB 2K10 and MLB 10: The Show, are arguably unfinished games. They certainly at least released that way, with The Show needing a patch to clear up some big franchise problems and freezes while 2K10 needed one just so people could play online ranked games without getting stuck and having to restart their consoles. And in the case of the ...

SCEA has announced that a second patch for MLB 10: The Show will be released tomorrow. It includes fixes intended to address some of the issues pointed out by the community including ones experienced in franchise mode and intentional walks causing freezes online. While we won't know if this patch was quickly created in response to some of the backlash that came after stating work wouldn't start on it until the end of the month, all that matters is that it is being delivered in a timely fash...

It is always worthwhile to compare different elements of competing games and the visuals are initially the easiest to do so. I went ahead and grabbed screenshots of 20 popular MLB players in order to judge how well their faces were rendered in MLB 10: The Show and MLB 2K10. The screenshots were captured using the same method so as to eliminate any difference in quality produced by the screenshot features of the particular games. Continue on to check out 10 of the players up against each oth...

The patch for MLB 2K10 has gone live on the Xbox 360 and the prompt to download will be presented when starting up the game. The most high profile changes that arrive with this patch include the addition of check swings, adjustments to manager AI on pulling pitchers, and fixing of the problem that has been preventing online ranked games from being played. Unfortunately it appears the PS3 version is being neglected as 2K Sports is unwilling to commit to a patch and may be planning to roll the c...
