Scheduled for a timed release alongside MLB 11: The Show is a limited edition DualShock 3 wireless controller. It will be available the same day as the game, March 8th, and sell for $54.99. First MLB 11: The Show Details
ESPN has posted up the first preview of MLB 11: The Show along with some screenshots. Possibly in response to criticism that the series had not been improving enough and was getting stale, the most radical change comes with a shift to default analog controls for pitching, hitting, and throwing. As with the 2K series the analog controls will likely end up being a polarizing change and could work well in some areas and not so much in others.
Other details include changes to the "guess pitch" ...
Joe Mauer Returns for Cover of MLB 11: The Show
Joe Mauer will stay on as the cover athlete of the MLB: The Show franchise. The Minnesota Twins catcher did not have the same great statistical season in 2010 coming off his MVP winning year but still finished eighth in MVP voting and helped the Twins to the AL Central championship.
The cover art notes two of the features that have long been confirmed for MLB 11: The Show. The game will be Playstation Move and 3D compatible. More details on the game (including the official announcement of M...
Cliff Lee Headed Back to Philadelphia
In a surprise development free agent pitcher Cliff Lee has spurned both the Yankees and the Rangers and has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. Lee played part of 2009 with the team helping lead them to the World Series and then was traded away in the offseason to make room for Roy Halladay. One year later and he will be joining him there. Reportedly it is a five year deal for considerably less money than he would have gotten with other offers on the table.
Certainly this news will have ...
MLB 2K May Just Be Playing Out The String
Hope of a future for the MLB 2K series has always been bleak. Take Two/2K Sports has taken a bath with the third party MLB license they signed in 2005. Just in 2010 alone they estimated a loss of $30-40 million due to the license. There was a reason why EA Sports passed on the opportunity to sign the deal leaving 2K Sports to snag it...it didn't make any financial sense.
However yesterday may have been the biggest sign yet that MLB 2K is a thorn in the side of Take Two that they can't wait ...
Another Roy Halladay MLB 2K11 Screenshot
A week ago the first screenshot for MLB 2K11 was revealed here. Now 2K Sports has released a new screen of Roy Halladay in a similar pose on the mound however pulled out wider to showcase his whole body.
(Update) 2K Sports has come out and corrected themselves stating now that this is actually a 2K10 shot. Quite the gaffe made there to release this as an official 2K11 shot.
The odd thing about the new image is it looks like the Halladay right out of MLB 2K10. The beard is redder, the eye...
First MLB 2K11 Screenshot
The first screenshot from MLB 2K11 has arrived and features cover athlete Roy Halladay. The complete full size image can be viewed in the gallery.
Though the image doesn't provide much sense of how the game may have advanced graphically in general it does show clear improvement for Halladay vs last year. It at least doesn't appear to be as obviously touched up as debut screens in previous years have been which is encouraging. The size of the numbers on the back of the jersey look to be much...
