EA Sports has launched the MLB licensed Facebook game that was rumored to be in the works just in time for opening day. Access the free-to-play microtransaction supported app here. World Series Superstars appears to be very similar to the other EA Sports games on the platform (Madden and FIFA Superstars) in terms layout and features though with a few of its own unique elements. The games play out on-screen and can be managed to a limited extent on a batter-to-batter basis or outright simu...

The article yesterday regarding online league restrictions finally prompted action from SCEA as they will be removing league restrictions in MLB 11: The Show on Monday. That it took such exposure to get a response is distressing in itself. Consumers have rights and should not be ignored just because their voice doesn't reach tens of thousands of readers, and features need to be delivered completely as advertised. While the decision to remove the various restrictions will be appreciated it...

Over 38,000 votes were cast in the MLB 2K11 vs MLB 11: The Show player face comparison polls. It was The Show that came out on top 14-6, which considering the graphical differences between the two games isn't a surprise. The community proved though that the voting wouldn't just go down the line for the favored game and instead cast for the better player representation in each individual match-up. The general consensus though is that both games have quite a bit of room for improvement.Ã...

While EA Sports still has at least one more year to wait through before being able to bring back MVP Baseball to the consoles the company is reportedly working on a MLB licensed Facebook game. That would add to the company's current offerings on the social platform which includes Madden NFL Superstars, FIFA Superstars, and PGA Tour Golf Challenge. Though no launch time frame is stated in the article it would seem to reason that a targeted live date would be opening day of the regular season ...
  • MLB 11: The Show Patch #1 Details
    by
    Posted March 22nd, 2011 at 12:30 pm 50 Comments »
Earlier today SCEA released the first patch for MLB 11: The Show intended to fix issues that were discovered with the game post-release. The two week turnaround time is right about the same as last year, as Sony has the benefit of pushing their own game through the patch approval process ahead of others. Unfortunately the patch does not address the free agency problem a few years into Franchise mode or attempt to improve online play performance. Another more comprehensive one is in the wo...
