There's a new roster update out for MLB The Show 16 for this week and some big-name players have received ratings adjustments. Benefiting the most from the update is Robinson Cano (+3 to 91) having played at an MVP level so far this season. He leads the league in RBIs (33) and is second in home runs (12). He rose 19 points in Power vs Righties, 8 points in Vision, and 6 points in Power vs Lefties. However he also lost 17 points in Plate Discipline and inexplicably fell by 9 points i...
  • New pack in MLB The Show 16 celebrates the best players of April

The third special pack to release during the regular season is now available for a limited time in MLB The Show 16. For 3,000 Coins it contains six player cards with an "increased chance" at the top performers from April plus Gold and Diamond cards. As with the first two packs it's very questionable whether anyone should risk their coins on these given the nature of the supposed increased odds, not having the two item cards found in standard packs, and being three times the price. If this...

  • Latest MLB The Show 16 patch fixes some issues while creating new ones

The third patch for MLB The Show 16 has just gone out and is the update many have been waiting for as it deals with some of the community feedback received on the game since releasing in late March. While most notably auto-baserunning should supposedly work properly now, there has been no mention made regarding check swings or the lethargic animations into throws seen on occasion from both infielders and outfielders. Unfortunately the patch has seemingly reintroduced some prob...

The fourth in-season roster update has gone out for MLB The Show 16 and for the first time this year it contains some significant ratings movement. Bryce Harper has moved up to a 99 Overall after a fantastic April in which he hit .286 with 9 home runs and 24 RBI. Zack Greinke has gone the opposite direction, dropping down to 91 after going 2-2 in 6 starts with a 5.50 ERA.  (more…)...

For the second time since the season began a special limited time card pack has been introduced to MLB The Show 16. With the pack are five new cards that enter the Diamond Dynasty pool of players, joining the 10 that made their debut last week. The smart move may be to avoid buying this "Developer's Choice" pack. The odds are not increased to an extent that makes it better than going with three regular packs. It does provide the opportunity to pull one of the new cards, howeve...

One of the biggest complaints about team-building modes in sports games is that they're built around pressuring consumers into spending money in order to complete. MLB The Show 16's Diamond Dynasty mode however has introduced a new feature that is arguably the most consumer-friendly in the genre and has made it far more inviting for those who don't necessarily want to invest in it the same way that others chose to do so. Inside Edge is delivering ratings changes on a daily basis that make...
  • MLB The Show 16 week three roster update

The third in-season roster update went out today for MLB The Show 16. While there were a number of ratings changes, very few of them affected upper-tier players. Only one name previously rated above an 84 moved up. After throwing his second no-hitter, Chicago Cubs' pitcher Jake Arrieta was bumped a point to 96, though it would seem justifiable for him and Bryce Harper to be all the way up at 99 now rather than a few points away still.  (more…)...
