MLB The Show 16 account bannings have been reversed but no apology offered
Early in the week a number of very active players in MLB The Show 16's Diamond Dynasty mode had their accounts banned preventing them from accessing any online features. Something however was clearly amiss with the situation and that became even more apparent as the days stretched on. Late last night a statement was released with the big news being that Sony San Diego went "deeper into the telemetry and are reactivating select accounts."
The development comes after a tumultuous few ...
Press Row Podcast: Cash-Fueled Controversies
Two major controversies arose this week and they have raised questions regarding the rights of consumers who purchase video games and spend money on digital items within them.
With MLB The Show 16, developer Sony San Diego banned a relatively large number of player accounts but some people may have found themselves banished unjustly. In FIFA the integrity of Ultimate Team mode has been brought into question, with high-value player cards not having played up to the level at which they w...
MLB The Show 16 roster update details for week 12
In following an update that included some massive shifts in ratings this week's changes in MLB The Show 16 don't come across quite as impactful. No players were bumped to reach the Gold or Diamond tiers, and only one player fell out of the latter and into the former. (more…)...
Concerns over recent MLB The Show 16 account bannings being investigated
On Monday a fairly large number of accounts were banned in MLB The Show 16. Typically wiping out cheaters would be a good thing, creating a level playing field for those who are competing within the rules - but the situation wasn't nearly as simple at that.
It quickly became apparent that something might be amiss with some people possibly being unjustifiably banned. After initially saying they would be not be reevaluating anyone's status, and being abrasive in their responses to ...
Wave of MLB The Show 16 bannings has created more questions than answers
Just a few days ago Sony San Diego reiterated a policy that has always been effect for account suspensions and bans relating to MLB The Show 16. This of course is all completely reasonable. Basically every online video game has a similar TOS in place and it's just a matter of how violations are ultimately acted upon.
Yesterday though a mass banning apparently took place as users took to social media and forums to express frustration and seek answers. They're finding plenty of the fo...
MLB The Show 16’s roster update for week 11 has massive ratings changes and additions
The latest roster update for MLB The Show 16 looks to be a course correction for a number of players who have disappointed this season or are far exceeding expectations. There are also some new cards for Diamond Dynasty that will be among the most desired in the mode.
Giancarlo Stanton has plummeted going down 6 points to 87 Overall. What had been an excessively overdue need for a change to his ratings, which hadn't been touched at all this season, was pointed out last week. It's a crushi...
MLB The Show 16 roster update details for week 10
It's starting to become a little more difficult to determine exactly what's going on with the roster updates to MLB The Show 16. There are players who have clearly needed to drop for a long time who haven't, and others who long ago earned upgrades but continue to be ignored.
One example of the former is Giancarlo Stanton. He has remained at 93 Overall all season despite batting .193 and he's getting worse by the month. He hit .173 in May and .116 through the first half of June.
Some...

He's batting .283 with 14 HR on the year and has been given boosts of 14 to Clutch, 12 to Power vs Righties, and 6 to both Contact vs Lefties and Power vs Righties.
