The blitz is on with media from MLB 08: The Show. Earlier IGN released a few short gameplay clips. Now both gametrailers and gamevideos have posted footage of their own. GV has Yankees vs Red Sox, while GT has the same NY-BOS matchup in one and a second features Braves vs Mets. They run from a little over a minute up to 2 1/2 minutes long. IGN has posted up a new set of screenshots (some of which are menu screens) as well as three gameplay videos from MLB 08: The Show (PS3). The gameplay screenshots definitely don't have the same crisp look to them as the others that have been released and it may be that they weren't captured in HD. That is true with the videos which makes a big difference. Continue on to watch the approximately minute long videos which feature the Cardinals vs Cubs at Wrigley. (more…)...

SCEA has announced that Philadelphia Phillies 1B Ryan Howard has been selected to be the cover athlete for MLB 08: The Show. Known for his prolific power and ability to drive in runs, Howard is just the second player in Major League Baseball(TM) history to win the Rookie of the Year honors and a Most Valuable Player award in successive seasons. During his 2006 MVP season, Howard led the Major Leagues in home runs (58), which broke the record for most home runs in a sophomore season set in...

A new MLB 08: The Show interview, screens, and video has been posted up over at IGN. The interview is massive spanning a full six pages and goes over improvements for 08 as well as more details on new features. There are 11 new screenshots and the video shows off gameplay through replay footage. Despite all the news and media on the game, the cover announcement still hasn't been made. This is somewhat out of the ordinary so I'd expect that to be revealed soon. Prince Fielder, Matt Hollida...

Two videos have been added to the official website for MLB 08: The Show (PS3) discussing features while displaying some gameplay footage. They've since been added to Gametrailers and I've included them here to watch by continuing on. The first is all about the "Replay Vault" which allows for the ability to watch any play that has occurred in the game. The second video goes over "Road to the Show" mode which looks as though its shaping up to be fantastic. (more…)...
