MLB 2K8 right analog pitching and throwing
IGN has posted a piece detailing the new use of the right analog stick for pitching and throwing as a fielder. While the topic has been gone over in general through previews of the game here they are discussed a little more specifically. Included are some videos that demonstrate what it looks like when completed successfully vs unsuccessfully.
If they work as they're supposed to I think both of these changes will add to the enjoyment of the game. Where I lose interest with the right stick...
MLB 2K8 top rated players and teams
Gametap has revealed the top 20 players at each position with their overall rating as well as the list of teams ranked in order from MLB 2K8. Expect the Twins to fall and the Mets to rise significantly once the Johan Santana (one of two players to get 100) trade is completed via roster update as they were likely locked in prior to it being completed.
1. New York Yankees
2. Detroit Tigers
3. Boston Red Sox
4. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Could one or both baseball games release a week early?
It seems like every year at least one baseball title pushes up their release date a week (back with MVP Baseball it was two weeks). Traditionally the games are originally slated for the first Tuesday in March and then move up to the last Tuesday in February. This is due in part because unlike the NBA where they mandate that their games all release on the same day the MLB leaves the window open. So these companies look for opportunities to get a jump on their competition.
As of right now n...
MLB 2K8 debut trailer
2K has released the first trailer for MLB 2K8. The general reaction thus far has been mixed. Not the usual level of excitement that is generally brought about by initial trailers.
One big area of contention is how the sound effects vary from what is found in the first gameplay videos. Either the videos are from an old build which didn't include the sound effect upgrades or the trailer has just those added in for dramatic effect. Regardless it's yet another area of confusion surrounding 2K...
A couple more previews of The Show
There have been a few hands-on previews of MLB 08: The Show posted recently. I've pulled a couple excerpts out below and click the links to read the full articles.
IGN (PS3)
What's particularly cool about this is that these stats wind up feeding the secondary stat feature, which is the new Headlines feature. Based on how your team happens to be doing within a season or a franchise mode, the game will pull the stats and automatically generate a number of news stories for your squad simila...
Two great screenshots from The Show
There has been an abundance of really impressive screenshots for MLB 08: The Show but the following two really stand out. Continuing to release a new screen (or more) each day over at Operation Sports these show off one of the 11 different interaction sequences between players and beach balls. The detail in the shots from the grass to the reflection off the beach ball is incredible. Click the thumbnails below to view the images full size.

MLB 2K8 full inning video
The first four short clips of MLB 2K8 recently released by IGN were met with a general sense of disappointment. It was the first chance to see the game in motion and the improvements that had been talked about but they weren't really evident given the length of the videos and what was chosen to be shown.
So naturally the next look at the game comes from a foreign source with the audio being out of sync. Again it does little to raise the expectations of the 360 owners anticipating the game...
