Here are the final seven screenshots taken from the community event held at the end of last month. If you missed either of the first two sets all the screens can be found in the gallery in larger form. MLB 09 The Show Demo Video
While the screenshot feature being included in the demo is fantastic I know a lot of people were hoping to see some actual demo footage. I started recording a play-through with plans to post up the whole thing. However the first inning had some dramatic moments and lasted 13 minutes so that should be more than enough to watch in one sitting.
I prefer to play with the ball cursor and strike zone off and pitch from the pitcher cam. It comes across pretty well in the video how natural the ga...
MLB 09 The Show Custom Sounds
Even though the demo is out there is still much to learn about MLB 09 The Show as the series of Playstation Blog postings continue. This is the second one they've put out this week and focuses on the Custom Chants and Yells feature as well as MLB Music. You can read the entire article which includes some menus screenshots here.
The Custom Chants and Yells feature allows you to record your own voice and hear it in the game, either as a fan yelling from the crowd or as a simulated crowd chant...
Screenshot Feature Included in MLB 09 Demo
Since the community preview event I have gotten many questions regarding how the screenshots were taken. This is a built-in feature of the PS3 tying in with MLB 09 The Show and the demo also includes it. So here is how the screens are taken along with a few I pulled out this evening.

MLB 2K9 Franchise Diary
Jon Robinson of ESPN has posted up the first part of his MLB 2K9 Franchise Diary series. This is something he did last year with 2K8 as well. The write-up includes the first details on improvements made to Franchise mode as well as an image of the new MLB.com interface. You can read the article in its entirety here.
MLB 2K9's Franchise was built from the ground up, adding and improving on things gamers have already praised from the NBA title. The game now features stats-based player progres...
MLB 09 The Show Event Screenshots #2
With the demo for MLB 09 The Show out tomorrow I thought I'd get another set of screens posted before everyone turns their attention to that. The third and final set will be posted sometime over the weekend. If you missed the first group make sure to check them out here or find them all in the screenshot gallery.
This set includes a couple Road to the Show screens of Padre. I didn't spend a lot of time creating him but loved that sunglasses are now an option. Continue on for the screens or fi...
MLB 09 The Show Demo Out Tomorrow
I have received confirmation from SCEA that the PS3 demo for MLB 09 The Show is expected to be out tomorrow February 5th. Generally PSN updates at around 3pm PT. The demo is four innings long and features a rematch of the World Series with the Tampa Bay Rays at the Philadelphia Phillies. As mentioned in my community preview write-ups the demo is based on a month old build but it should be a fair representation of what to expect with the final product.
I'll try to get up a few videos of th...
MLB 09 Road to the Show Training Modes
The weekly Playstation Blog series continues for MLB 09 The Show. This time the focus is around the new training modes that have been added in Road to the Show as well for general practice. Batting Practice and Base Stealing are the two different types. You can read the blog posting in full here which also includes a video.
And from a gameplay standpoint, we have always wanted RTTS to feel like you are doing exactly what you would be doing, from going to Spring training, to working up throu...
