Throughout the recent MLB 09 The Show Community Preview Event we were given the opportunity to take screenshots using the PS3's slick built-in feature which made it really convenient. From that I grabbed 23 screens that SCEA has been generous enough to forward back to me. Most of them were based on requests that people had made via Twitter. Today I'll put up the first eight of those which you can check out by continuing on or in larger form in the screenshot gallery. (more…)...

Another long day with MLB 09 The Show is complete. This time around my time was split between exhibition games, Road To The Show, practice drills, and grabbing screenshots and some video highlights. I'm not sure when I'll have those screens and clips back from SCEA but I'm hopeful that will happen by the end of the weekend. Out of those things about all I can discuss right now is the gameplay. The others will have to wait for another day. If you missed the first report from the event make...

After about five hours with the game today and more than that to come tomorrow there will be plenty to discuss about MLB 09 The Show. I wanted to get some initial thoughts up now and follow that up with one that will probably be more extensive tomorrow night. First, there are some restrictions to what I am able to talk about. Those basically amount to the topics that are slated for coverage in the upcoming weekly Playstation Blog postings. I'll be able to go over those areas a day after t...

Another entry in the weekly blog series from SCEA, this time concentrating on Road to the Show mode. You can read the blog in its entirety here. There doesn't appear to have been any huge changes but instead several issues that people had with the mode have been addressed or improved upon. With the new Sounds Of The Show feature, we’ve been able to support audio customizations that will allow you to pick not only your batter walkup music, but also your reliever entry music and a home run ...

Various media outlets got a chance earlier this week to spend some time with MLB 09 The Show and its developers. Operation Sports has their full preview and has also posted an interview with an online producer. Overall the game sounds like it is pretty much what everyone is expecting. I wish I was able to say the interview made me more confident about online performance this year though. In real baseball, it is easy enough to figure out who the stars are and why they mean so much to their r...

As mentioned previously I wanted to give everyone a chance to get some requests down for things you would like to hear about coming out of the MLB 09 The Show Community Preview. The preview takes place at the end of next week. No pictures or video of the game will be allowed but most of what we encounter when playing the game is expected to be open for discussion. For those who haven't read through some of my impressions out of community events I tend to look at the game with a relatively...

The weekly series of postings for MLB 09 The Show on the Playstation Blog continues, this time focusing on AI improvements. The blog goes over some areas in specific detail and was accompanied by a video that talks more about it. You can read it in full here. Today we’re going to show you some of our new and improved A.I. for MLB 09 The Show. Realism is THE most important thing to use here on the MLB 09 The Show team. Year in and year out, with a development team that has a wealth of base...

For those who got to see the leaked video a while back it was exciting to get a glimpse of the new Yankee Stadium as represented in MLB 09 The Show. SCEA has now presented MTV with a video tour of the stadium. Also now added is the Mets new Citi Field. Needless to say they look fantastic. Continue on to watch the videos and leave your thoughts in the comments. The new Yankee Stadium was constructed, like many stadiums built for “MLB 09: The Show,” pretty much by one person, artist Kev...
