ESPN has posted up the first preview of MLB 11: The Show along with some screenshots. Possibly in response to criticism that the series had not been improving enough and was getting stale, the most radical change comes with a shift to default analog controls for pitching, hitting, and throwing. The Minnesota Twins catcher did not have the same great statistical season in 2010 coming off his MVP winning year but still finished eighth in MVP voting and helped the Twins to the AL Central championship. MLB: The Show May Get “Online Pass”
News today that Sony is investigating putting together its own "online pass" like system for all first party titles, and that would include the MLB: The Show franchise. EA Sports and THQ now provide one-time-use codes in all sports titles that provide access to online functionality. However for those who pick up the game used it costs $10 to access online play. MLB 10: The Show Could Go 3D Soon
Back in January MLB 10: The Show was demoed in 3D at CES. Today Sony president and CEO Jack Tretton announced that the PS3 will have 20 titles available in 3D this fiscal year. Amongst the games demonstrated in 3D at the presentation was MLB 10: The Show. Beginning tomorrow four titles will be available in 3D but The Show is not one of them. MLB 10: The Show Receives Patch Fix
Earlier this week the third patch for MLB 10: The Show came out and not long it was discovered that a major issue had been introduced. Runs were being scored in situations where third outs were being recorded. That has now been resolved with the release of a secondary patch to fix the problem. Firing up the game on the PS3 will lead to the prompt for the game update and all should be good after installation. Full details on the earlier patch can be found here....

The Show to Patch Today’s Patch
Earlier today the third patch for MLB 10: The Show released only to find it contained a significant bug that was severe enough to require immediate response. With the introduction of the patch runs are now being counted on third outs which is obviously a huge problem.
