Both MLB 11: The Show and MLB 2K11 are set to hit stores tomorrow but that doesn't mean all has been answered about these games. There are still questions consumers may have that are lingering and could affect purchase decisions. SCEA and 2K Sports are making questionable moves in the lead-up to their respective releases. Road to the Show in SCEA's MLB series has always been one of the better sports gaming career modes. Despite that it has faced its share of issues and a tedious nature that has grown tired over the last few years. With MLB 11: The Show changes have been made to the mode and the result is a much more enjoyable experience. (more…)...

One slick new feature that both baseball titles are providing this year are the unique television broadcast camera angles that are tailored to the specifics for each stadium. The same angle and zooms used to watch the games on TV are represented by selecting "Broadcast". With MLB 11: The Show not only does the angle vary from stadium to stadium but the placement of the pitching meter does as well. That will likely lead to a sense of having a slight home field advantage as they do take some ...

The AI logic and sim engine in a Franchise mode are always heavily scrutinized and for good reason. Poor output by either can completely sour the experience and damage the value of the title. Even just one completely unrealistic trade can ruin the immersive nature of the mode. I've gone through and simulated a full season in MLB 11: The Show. Keeping in mind that just one simulation is not necessarily representative of all that will be done, here are all the happenings that took place and h...

Earlier the overall team rankings for MLB 11: The Show made their way out, however the overall is only a representation of the combined batting, pitching, and defensive rankings. With MLB 11: The Show in hand later today the pre-release coverage will go strong through the weekend and Monday. Impressions, videos, screenshots, and info is on the way! Here is a chance to make some requests. Who would you like to see featured in a screenshot? What teams would you like to see in videos? Keep in mind I'll only be able to get to some of them due to time constraints but will make those calls based on suggestions in the comments. During the process follow along on Twitter fo...
  • MLB 11 Cover Creating Some Confusion

When Joe Mauer was announced as The Show's cover athlete for the second year in a row it was perceived somewhat as an uninspired decision. Beyond that though there wasn't much consideration given to how a similar cover to the previous iteration would affect the game as it related to retailers and in turn consumers. Some of the potential concerns are now being realized. Earlier this week sightings of copies on store shelves began and in some cases the game has even been sold early by mistake...
