Over 38,000 votes were cast in the MLB 2K11 vs MLB 11: The Show player face comparison polls. It was The Show that came out on top 14-6, which considering the graphical differences between the two games isn't a surprise. The community proved though that the voting wouldn't just go down the line for the favored game and instead cast for the better player representation in each individual match-up. The general consensus though is that both games have quite a bit of room for improvement.Ã...
  • MLB 11: The Show Patch #1 Details

Earlier today SCEA released the first patch for MLB 11: The Show intended to fix issues that were discovered with the game post-release. The two week turnaround time is right about the same as last year, as Sony has the benefit of pushing their own game through the patch approval process ahead of others. Unfortunately the patch does not address the free agency problem a few years into Franchise mode or attempt to improve online play performance. Another more comprehensive one is in the wo...

SCEA's MLB series has arguably been the most consistent sports franchise this generation. There is a reason why baseball gamers have flocked to it, and it isn't just because the competition has struggled so mightily. For MLB 11: The Show the introduction of new analog controls represented the most significant shift for the somewhat risk-adverse series in years. Continue on to check out where the game succeeded and where it misstepped in this "Hits and Misses" review.  (more…)...
  • MLB 11: The Show Online Impressions

Online play has always been the achilles' heel of SCEA's MLB series. Whether due to lack of resources or foresight the performance has remained troubled to go along with head-scratching design decisions. MLB 11: The Show is really no different than any other year then. The online game experience is possibly improved, though still very inconsistent, and advancements in the way of options are largely off-set by other frustrating elements.  (more…)...
  • MLB 11 Franchise Mode Bug To Be Addressed
    by
    Posted March 9th, 2011 at 8:00 am 45 Comments »
Yesterday it was discovered that a major bug is present in MLB 11: The Show's Franchise mode, one that is practically identical to a bug in MLB 10 that plagued the mode as well. Essentially after just a couple years (in this instance going into the 2014 season) the free agency list is populated by big name players who have been priced out of the market by cheaper players who progressed to high ratings. Those All-Star caliber players linger in free agency from then on and are not signed by the ...
