There has been no more consistent sports series this generation than SCEA's MLB: The Show. It has shined in gameplay, depth, and authenticity while struggling mightily along the way in areas such as online play and commentary. The complete list of players eligible to become the cover athlete for MLB 13: The Show was revealed yesterday with Miguel Cabrera, Buster Posey, C.C. Sabathia, Ryan Braun, Matt Kemp, Bryce Harper, and Andrew McCutchen all in the running. SCEA has released some additional details on MLB 13: The Show relating to a new "Universal Profile" and throwback uniforms that will be available. Given that it is mid-December, when typically only cover athlete and basic features have been discussed in the past, the news makes for interesting information to digest before the bigger features are to be revealed beginning in January. Addition of Josh Hamilton Makes Angels Formidable in MLB 13: The Show
Yesterday brought the surprise news of Josh Hamilton signing for 5 years and $125 million with the Los Angeles Angels. The team hadn't really been considered on the radar for Hamilton during the process and with the way things were shaking out as far as other deals it appeared likely he would return to the Texas Rangers. This is the first year in which The Show has involved fans in the selection of a cover athlete.
