The Show Live Kicks Off With Start of Season
Similar to what was first introduced in NBA Live 09 as the "Rewind" feature, with later variations on the concept having been incorporated by NBA 2K and MLB 2K, "The Show Live" in MLB 13: The Show offers the opportunity to play the current day's match-ups or go back and play any from earlier in the season with rosters (fed in from MLB.com) accurate to the game in question. With the season opening up last night it's important to check on how everything is working thus far as modes of this typ...
MLB 13: The Show Opening Day Roster Update Out Now
The first regular season roster update has arrived for MLB 13: The Show. This update won't include players who have yet to make their first major league appearance - next Monday's will be significant for adding those who debut this week - but does attempt to better reflect the final 25 man rosters, lineups, and rotations. It features the trade of Vernon Wells to the Yankees, the signing of Kyle Lohse by the Brewers, and Aroldis Chapman back as closer. (more…)...
Part One of Player Face Comparisons Between MLB 13: The Show and MLB 2K13
With baseball one of the last remaining sports that have competition - whether that continues to be the case in 2014 is up in the air at this point - the player face comparison between the two games has been one of the most popular features of the spring the last few years. The Show has won out in all three battles: 21-6 margin in 2012, 14-6 in 2011, and 11-8-1 in 2010.
For 2013 the set of faces has been expanded to 40. While MLB 2K13 is practically a carbon copy of 2K12 it still could...
Details on First Patch for MLB 13: The Show
The first patch for MLB 13: The Show is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday the 26th and SCEA has delivered the full list of changes to expect. The most notable issues with the game included the CPU throwing the first pitch of at-bats too often down the heart of the plate and a hitch that would occasionally appear after the ball left the pitcher's hands. An attempt to address both problems have been made in the update. Continue on to check out all the info! (more…)...
MLB 13: The Show – Hits and Misses
As a series MLB: The Show has been the most consistent of all the yearly sports representations this generation. Consumers have come to rely on exceptional baseball authenticity, realistic gameplay, fantastic graphics, and deep franchise and career modes to invest time with. What has been missing though is sense of accessibility and an acceptable online experience. Those aspects however are no longer holding the franchise back.
MLB 13: The Show is the iteration that pulled everything t...
Online Play Takes Tremendous Step Forward in MLB 13: The Show
Online play has forever been the Achilles' heel of the MLB: The Show series representing the worst sports gaming has had to offer in that area. When NBA 2K made strides last year it left The Show as the only sports franchise that was not providing an acceptable online experience. Regardless of the reasons why, online performance was typically awful, and the games were simply not fun to play due to the advantage held by the pitchers.
Based on the days following release of MLB 13: The Show ...
Your Thoughts So Far on MLB 13: The Show
Outside of Postseason mode MLB 13: The Show didn't carry with it a bevy of flashy new features. What it did do however was work to refine and enhance all aspects of the series while increasing accessibility. Outside of an issue with CPU pitchers serving up fat first pitches most at-bats and an occasional stutter out of the pitching delivery (both of which are documented quite well in threads on Operation Sports - first pitch meatballs here and stutter here - but also noted by myself) this ma...
Baseball Games Leak the All-Star Uniforms
Both MLB 13: The Show and MLB 2K13 include the uniforms and batting practice caps for the 2013 All-Star game. The designs being worn for the All-Star festivities have yet to be officially revealed by the league but are available within the games. This year's event takes place at New York's Citi Field and as such the colors and logo are inspired by the Mets. Continue on to check out images for the AL and NL as captured from both titles.
