To coincide with the release of MLB 14: The Show on PS3 and Vita tomorrow SCEA has pushed out a new video that goes over 30 features that might not be known about the game. Many of them will be familiar to those who have followed information on this year's edition but there are others which haven't received the same level of attention mixed in. Keep in mind that all of these features - even though most of the footage used is PS3 - will apply to the PS4 version which is now five weeks away fr...

The decision not to release a demo on the PS3, the lack of any "trade-up" promotion for those with both the PS3 and PS4, and initial assessments of the Quick Counts feature after seeing it in action are all discussed. • MLB 14: The Show PS3 Gameplay Video Featuring Quick Counts

Earlier this week the top rated players for MLB 14: The Show were revealed thanks to a consumer with hands on an early PS3 copy. Now the first extended gameplay can be watched and it utilizes the optional new Quick Counts feature that generates them rather than starting with a fresh slate. In theory that will lead to more realistic walk and strikeout numbers and at the same time reduce the length of time it takes to play games. The video features Cardinals at Red Sox for a single inning t...

While SCEA has generally not released player ratings as a form of promoting The Show consumers who have gotten their hands on the game early have gone about exposing the ratings instead. That's happened again this year as a member of Operation Sports has provided screenshots of the top rated players at each position for MLB 14: The Show. Last year MLB 13 featured 17 players rated 99 overall - which was actually down from an absurd 44 with MLB 12 - and 99 total players coming in 90 or high...

With release of MLB 14: The Show on PS3 and Vita just a week away it's now been confirmed that there will be no pre-release demo. The news should come as no surprise given SCEA's recent track record with the series however circumstances that are far different than a typical year could have changed that.  (more…)...
  • Launch Trailer for MLB 14: The Show on PS3

With just over a week to go until release on the PS3 and Vita very little has been seen of MLB 14: The Show in action. Some gameplay videos were taken off-screen of an early build in January, and trailers have featured snippets of gameplay, but that represents the extent to which MLB 14 has been put on display. A demo arriving on Tuesday would appear to be unlikely - confirmation of whether there will be one or not is expected tomorrow. Three out of the past four years SCEA has chosen not...
  • Time Running Short to Announce Trade-Up Program for MLB 14: The Show
    by
    Posted March 21st, 2014 at 1:15 pm 11 Comments »
While those eagerly anticipating the PlayStation 4 version of MLB 14: The Show had to be happy that the game would be out the first Tuesday of May - the earliest possible date once SCEA announced it would land that month - the short five week gap from the PlayStation 3 version releasing has only amplified the perceived necessity of a "trade-up" program. If the company hopes to get consumers who have held on to their PS3 to buy the game before also getting it on their PS4 they'll need to o...
