A new video comparing MLB 14: The Show gameplay footage has released courtesy of Gamespot and it directly matches up the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game to show the visual enhancements that come with the new system. It's somewhat surprising that media directly comparing the two versions of the game has already been offered up. There's a delicate balance SCEA has to consider in selling the PS4 version and its improvements without making the PS3 look so inferior that those still consid...

Even more footage has shown up today courtesy of IGN with three short clips of the game in action. Though the feature sets between PS3 and PS4 may be the same many technological improvements can be realized with the advanced hardware and some of that is evident already. (more…)...

MLB 14: The Show arrived last week but the usual roster update that accompanies sports games for release was absent. That left consumers waiting yet another week for the latest rosters and having to consider whether to delay starting up a Franchise or Road to the Show or getting stuck for the entirety of their careers with the base six week old rosters. SCEA has now released the first update and that includes players who made their MLB debuts early this season. The biggest name is Masahir...

While SCEA revealed some of the framework to Online Franchise for MLB 14: The Show the company never explained the actual logistics of the mode. Baseball inherently presents challenges like the length of the season and time requirement to play games which necessitates chunks of them being open on the schedule for example - but then how are rotations, injuries, and fatigue handled when not playing games in any specific order? Server issues, the need to actually play some of the games to de...

SCEA made two time-saving features the most marketed additions for MLB 14: The Show. There is no doubt that the length of time it takes to play games has limited baseball's potential video game consumer base and even hampered the ability for the most dedicated fans to play to the extent they would like. Of the two options developed for MLB 14 at least one is proving to be a worthwhile option to consider.  (more…)...
  • First Roster Update for MLB 14: The Show Won’t Be Out Until April 8

MLB 14: The Show released on PS3 and Vita today but the wait will continue one week until new rosters are provided. For the time being the rosters included in the game do not represent any transactions that took place after mid-February. Unfortunately that means consumers may feel the need to wait until April 8 before starting up Franchise, Road to the Show, or Season mode. The first roster update will include signings, player movement, and injuries that have occurred since mid-Februar...
