The MLB The Show 16 stream earlier this week that focused on gameplay improvements was unable to cover everything of note, and a new one today went into detail on some other features that will be enjoyed in the game this year. That includes the much anticipated return of Sounds of the Show, which will allow for up to 6GB of MP3s to be added for use with walk-up and home run music, crowd chants and yells, and playing when in the menus. Among the other things touched on are the additi...
  • Your thoughts on the gameplay improvements for MLB The Show 16

The first promotional push for MLB The Show 16 related to Road to the Show with the "Perks" and "Showtime" features generating decidedly mixed reaction. Gameplay should be a different story, as there will naturally be those who feel not enough has been done, but all that which has been improved upon will likely be viewed in a positive light. The primary focus for this year was on variety in animations, but there are also new elements of personality that have been injected, while maj...

A live stream held today by MLB The Show 16 developers went through improvements to expect for gameplay. The most notable changes affect bunt logic and base stealing - both desperately needed after being exploited heavily last year. A ton of work has gone into the variety of animations, performance of players who are out of their primary position, new types of swings and running styles, 20 umpires all with unique personalities, more personalized home run rituals like Edwin ...

Just over a week ago a number of improvements and additions were detailed for Road to the Show mode in MLB The Show 16. Among them were gameplay perks and ShowTime, both of which weren't very warmly received as concerns have arisen about the mode getting too gimmicky. More attractive to RTTS veterans is no longer having to go back to the menus after every game and enhancements to scouting and the Topps Prospect Showcase. MLB The Show 16 developers dove in deeper to RTTS with the fir...

MLB The Show 16 had the first reveal of feature details and teaser trailer early last month. That included "Showtime" (a bullet-time type feature for Road to the Show and Player Lock), retractable roofs, six classic stadiums, new cards for Diamond Dynasty, and mention of two new modes that were being held back to announce at a later date. Today SCEA went further into detail on Road to the Show as well as how ShowTime factors into the mode. In addition to not having to go back to the menu ...

  • Your most anticipated new feature so far announced for MLB The Show 16

Though the first news on MLB The Show 16 turned out to be somewhat less substantial than the first reveals of recent years, there was still plenty to chew on, particularly when realizing there are still well over three months until the game releases. Whether it's the addition of retractable roofs, return of classic stadiums (Polo Grounds, Griffith Park, Forbes Field, Sportsman Park, Shibe Park, Crosley Field), new "bullet time" type feature called ShowTime as an option in Road to the S...
  • Reacting to the first MLB The Show 16 news

It may be nearly four months out but some of the early details on MLB The Show 16 have already been provided. That's not out of the norm for the series which tends to have first info on base-features and improvements out annually in early-mid December. In fact, there is far less substance this time around than in recent years of promotion. Still there's a lot to chew on, including one feature that is being met by a predictably mixed response, some good news on Road to the Show and a...
