2K Sports has released a brand new trailer for MLB 2K10. While I generally don't post up "sizzle" trailers, which are manufactured flash rather than offering much of actual substance, with not much else to go on how the game plays it is at least worth a watch until some gameplay videos hit. Continue on to check out the video and leave your thoughts in the comments! (more…)...

A new blog from 2K Sports has been posted detailing work that has been done on Franchise mode for MLB 2K10. Additions include 40 man rosters, compensation picks, MLB Today layout, and the ability to Super Sim.  You can check it out in full here. While we expect people will be pretty excited about 40 Man Rosters and September Call-ups, we think the new feature that will have the most impact on how users play through Franchise will be compensation picks. In a lot of Franchise modes (especial...

ESPN has posted up a lengthy interview with MLB 2K10 producer Ben Bishop which offers a solid overview of the upcoming game. The topics discussed include reaction to 2K9, new features and the focus for this year, and some good info on the new My Player mode. Our key goal on the gameplay side was really to bring out that intensity and that drama of the hitter versus pitcher battle. That battle is key to us and we really wanted to bring back the simulation aspect of it. We wanted to make it acc...

A new batch of screenshots have been released for MLB 2K10. These show off some different aspects of the game rather than just players from replay mode. Included in this group of 10 screens are a few from My Player mode along with a couple from the batter's perspective. Those are probably intended to show off the lower camera angle while at the plate this year. Also displayed on one is the Batter's Eye feature with the text "fastball" over the strike zone. Check them all out in the screens...

With just over five weeks until release there isn't a great deal of detail out there on MLB 2K10 other than the vague features list and a couple previews based on very limited exposure with the game. That makes the Q&A from Chase at Operation Sports that much more revealing. After checking out the game yesterday he is responding to questions while preparing a full preview for Monday. There is a lot of good info to be had from reading through but the thing getting the most attention is t...
  • MLB 2K10 Fixes Advertising Altered Stadiums

Last year a controversy arose when MLB 2K9 attempted to extend the space for advertising by altering some wall dimensions and adding signs that didn't exist in the stadiums. The two most egregious examples were the left field wall in Nationals Park which became a mini-"Green Monster" in order to accommodate one large ad and Wrigley Field which had a non-existent billboard erected in center field. While more of a just a nuisance there was also some discontent over the sheer number of ads being ...

Earlier I posted up the full features list for MLB 2K10. Now IGN has released the first hands-on preview of the game. There is a distinct tone of discouragement carried throughout which is not typical of most previews which tend to be glowing or give the benefit of the doubt on issues. Included in the preview is talk about the My Player mode which appears to be primarily focused on clutch situations, the formula for pitching with the right stick being made more accessible, a defensive swing ...

With less than seven weeks until release the first information on MLB 2K10 has finally made its way out. The big addition looks to be with the My Player career mode and MLB Today which were features initially introduced in NBA 2K10. While this is the complete features list it doesn't appear to represent everything new or improved for this year. Instead it introduces the features that will be most heralded for 2K10. Work the corners – Based on each pitcher’s mechanics and offic...
