New on DVD: Week of February 1
There are quite a bit of movies releasing this week. The big name hitting stores is Zombieland. The comedy was well received by critics, scoring an 89% on Rottentomatoes.com. Sports fans can see LeBron James in More Than a Game. Unfortunately, he won't be seen in hi-def as the movie is only releasing on standard DVD. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray:

Top DVD Sales and Rentals for Week Ending January 24, 2010
The people have spoken! They love Gerard Butler's Gamer. The action flick was not only last week's top selling DVD, but also the most rented. Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself reign at the top was short lived and fell to second. The more impressive feat was Gamer knocking The Hangover out of the top slot for most rented DVD. The smash-hit comedy had a tight grip on that spot for quite a while. Below is the list of DVD sales and rentals for the week ending January 24, 2010:

New on DVD: Week of January 25
It looks like we have another solid week of movie releases. The much anticipated Michael Jackson's This Is It will hit stores this week, and will most likely sell well. Although ticket sales didn't go as predicated, DVD sales should be pretty high. Other notable releases include Bruce Willis' Surrogates and Ellen Page's Whip It. I enjoyed Whip It, and thought Drew Barrymore did a solid job in her directorial debut. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray:

I thought Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs would at least hold on to the top slot for one more week. The Hangover continues to be the most rented DVD, while having very strong sales. Below is the list of DVD sales and rentals for the week ending January 18, 2010:
