LA Times reports that Universal Studios is in talks with 'Harold and Kumar' writers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, to script American Pie 4. The film would follow 2003's American Wedding, and thankfully won't have anything to do with the handful of DVD titles that have been released since then. At least some of the cast is interested in coming back for the new picture, though sources emphasized that development is early and there are no actor deals in place. Seann William Scott, Jason...

Last week Variety reported that Vin Diesel had signed on for another 'Riddick' movie. Today, The Hollywood Reporter reveals the first story details of the film: Though billed as a back-to-basics approach to the character popularized by Diesel, the script features the character -- the most wanted man in the galaxy -- left for dead on a barren alien planet, dealing with "trisons" (three-legged bisons) and "mud demons." He must then contend with two squads of bounty hunters, one of which ride ...

It's a pretty solid week for movie releases. It seems as if every week Gerard Butler is in a new movie. This we can see him along with Jamie Foxx in Law Abiding Citizen. I really thought it was a decent movie even though most critics didn't like it. On the other hand a movie that critics did enjoy was Black Dynamite. The comedy did very well, scoring an 83% fresh rating on Rottentomatoes.com. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray: (more…)...

According to New York Magazine, Warner Bros. is currently in negotiations with Book of Eli directors Albert and Allen Hughes, to direct the live-action adaptation of Akira. Iron Man writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby will pen the script for the film. Respecting the source's complexity (or perhaps acquiescing to it), Warners won’t proceed with a single, live-action remake of the film, which trimmed away the last half of the 2,182-page graphic novel in order to weigh in at just over t...

Michael Jackson always topped the music charts, but we can't say the same for DVD sales. Not even the 'King of Pop' could defeat flesh eating zombies, as the horror/comedy Zombieland was the highest selling and most rented DVD last week. Michael Jackson's This Is It fell to second in sales.
