After a two week reign at the top, Law Abiding Citizen finally took a back seat. The blockbuster 2012 took over the top slot in both DVDs sold and rented. Something that caught my eye was The Hurt Locker. The film has been on the market for eight weeks and this was the first time in a weeks that it has showed up in the top 10. Clearly, the Oscars gave it a nice boost in sales. Below is the list of DVD sales and rentals for the week ending March 7, 2010: Rentrak Top 10 Selling DVDs: 1 ...

During the Super Bowl, the TV spot for Robin Hood was released. Today, Yahoo! has the exclusive trailer premiere. Director Ridley Scott (Gladiator) joins Russell Crowe again to give us another rendition of the classic tale. One thing is for sure, this trailer makes Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves seem rather soft. The film will release in theaters May 14, 2010. ...

According to Fox411, The Office's John Krasinski is the front runner for the role and it's his to lose. Insiders at the Marvel compound tell Fox 411 that he is close to landing the superhero gig of his life. John, who plays Jim on "The Office," has appeared in front of producers repeatedly since the start of the new year and since rumors be...

This is a solid week for movie releases. The big name hitting store shelves is George Clooney's Up in the Air. The movie scored a 90% 'fresh rating' on Rottentomatoes.com and I don't think I've heard anyone say a bad thing about the film. Other notables releases include The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day and The Fourth Kind. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray: (more…)...

MTV caught up with actor Ed Helms this past Friday at the Spirit Awards. Helms shared some news on the upcoming sequel to the 2009 smash hit. "Well, we're gonna shoot it, and it's gonna to be awesome," he said. "It's gonna star Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis -- I have a part apparently, which I'm excited about -- and Justin Bartha, and Todd Phillips is gonna direct it." Up to this point we hadn't heard for sure if Justin Bartha, Doug from the first film, would return for the sequel. It ...

As much success as Paranormal Activity had, it was only a matter of time before we saw a sequel. One of the movies stars, Micah Sloat, spoke with MTV and shared some news on a sequel. "I know a lot I can't tell you," Sloat told MTV News. "It's really interesting — the whole director drama with the 'Saw [VI]' director [Kevin Greutert]. That's been public." "All I can tell you is that I'm very excited for the project," Sloat said. "It's really cool. It's gonna be really interesting,...

For the second straight week, Law Abiding Citizen is the top selling DVD. The drama was also the most rented DVD last week, knocking Couples Retreat to second. It's surprising the movie is doing so well when you consider the poor reviews the movie received. Below is the list of DVD sales and rentals for the week ending February 28, 2010: Rentrak Top 10 Selling DVDs: 1 Law Abiding Citizen (Anchor Bay) 2 The Vampire's Assistant (Universal) 3 Couples Retreat (Universal) 4 The Box (...

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Neil Patrick Harris will star in Sony's The Smurfs. The film will be a mix of live-action and animation, and Harris will play the lead 'human'. Neil Patrick Harris has a TV-heavy resume. Now he's just landed the lead in Smurfs: The Movie for Sony. Harris won’t have to walk around as a blue-tinted Avatar, either. The Raja Gosnell-directed film is a mix of live action and animation, and Harris is the lead live action character. I remember enjoying...
